CAF Secures โฌ500 Million Contract to Supply Sรฃo Paulo Commuter Trains
Sรฃo Paulo, Brazilโ -โข November 21, 2025 – Spanish rolling stock manufacturer CAF has been awarded a โฌ500 million contract to deliver 107 commuter trainsโข to Sรฃoโ Paulo, Brazil. The agreement,finalized today,will considerably โexpand the capacity and modernize the rail network serving Latin โAmerica’s largest city.
The โขcontract with CPTM (Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos), Sรฃo Paulo’s metropolitan โtrain โฃcompany, โrepresents a major win for CAF and underscores the growing demand for modern rail infrastructure in โBrazil. These new trains are intended โขto alleviate overcrowding โคon key lines, improve โpassenger experience, โขand supportโข the region’s economic development. The delivery of the trains is โคscheduled to begin โขin 2027, with completion expected โคby 2029,โฃ and will directlyโ impact โคthe daily commutes ofโ millions of โคSรฃo Paulo residents.
The new fleet willโค consist โคofโ seven-car trains designed to enhance accessibility and comfort.
