Pakistani Commerce Minister Visits Iran to Strengthen Economic Cooperation
Tehran, Iran – Federal Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan arrived in Tehran on Sunday for aโข three-day official visit focused on bolstering economic relationsโข between Pakistan and Iran. A press release from the commerce ministry detailed the purpose of the trip.
The visit comes as bothโข nations already maintain closeโข ties, evidenced by previous agreements spanning sectors likeโค energy and trade. khan was greeted at Imamโค Khomeini International โAirport โbyโข amin Tarfa’a, an advisor to Iran’s Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
During hisโข timeโ inโค Iran, Khan is scheduled to lead the 22nd Session of the Pakistan-Iran Joint Economic Commission and co-chair the Pakistan-Iranโฃ Joint Business Forum. He will also engage in meetingsโค with keyโฃ Iranian ministers and senior officials, aiming to strengthen bilateral trade and investment cooperation.
Accordingโค to the commerce ministry, Khan’s visit is intended to inject new momentum into the economic and commercial relationship between the two countries through these collaborative forums.
This visit follows aโฃ reciprocal trip to Pakistan by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in August, during which โข12 agreements and โmemorandums of understandingโ (MoUs) were signed. These โagreements covered areas including plant protection andโข quarantine,joint use of the Mirjaveh-Taftan border โgate,and collaboration in science,technology,innovation,and information and communications technology,as reported by Radio Pakistan.
Duringโ the August meetings, both sides engaged โin โextensive discussions regarding โtheir overall bilateral ties, includingโฃ cultural and religious connections,โ with the goal of further enhancing cooperation.
