Suns Aim for Championship Contention in 2025-26‌ Season Following Offseason Moves

The Phoenix Suns enter‌ the 2025-26 NBA season⁣ with heightened expectations following an active offseason focused on bolstering depth and developing young talent around established stars. After⁣ a preseason⁣ glimpse⁢ at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, Calif., on October 3, 2025, the Suns appear poised to contend for a championship, though navigating the⁢ competitive ⁢Western Conference will be a important challenge.

This season ⁤marks a pivotal⁢ moment for the franchise ⁤as they integrate new pieces and aim to capitalize on the prime years of their⁤ core⁢ players. ⁤The success of⁣ the Suns⁣ hinges on the development of their bench, the health ‍of key contributors,⁢ and⁣ their ability to translate preseason promise into regular-season consistency. The team’s outlook is further shaped by a blend of veteran leadership ‍and emerging prospects, creating a dynamic roster with⁢ a high‌ ceiling.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone: From Hurdles to 400, World Record Dreams

by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor October 21, 2025

Sydney ‍McLaughlin-Levrone‍ Sets Sights‌ on 400m World Record, Considers Event Double

LOS ANGELES – World-record holder in the 400m ⁣hurdles and american-record holder in the open 400m, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, revealed her ambition to pursue the women’s 400m world record of 47.60, following her near-miss at the recent world Championships where she ran a personal best of 47.78.‍

“I think it’s fair to say that that’s definitely something that’s on my‍ radar,” mclaughlin-Levrone stated in a recent interview with⁣ USA TODAY Sports. “I think coming so close at Worlds… I think we knew⁢ that sub-48 was there. I think⁣ I was a little surprised to see 47.78. You feel so close yet so far ⁤away from that ‌world record. But it’s exciting. I think it’s an ⁢exciting time for sports. It’s an exciting time for⁤ that event. It definitely is a challenge that I hopefully can push myself in for more races to come.”

The athlete also addressed the ⁤possibility of competing in both the 400m hurdles and the open 400m at future major championships, including ⁣the 2028 Olympics. “There’s been ‌a lot‌ of talk about this double,” she said. ‌”I can’t rule anything out. I think one of the beauties of just the versatility is ⁤that there’s ⁣options,‍ and so I think over the next few years, we’ll definitely⁤ have to weigh kind of ⁣what makes sense for us and what‌ that looks like. I don’t think we’re settled on anything quite yet, so everything’s‍ on the table.”

McLaughlin-Levrone acknowledged the historical lack of recognition for ⁣track and field athletes in major awards like ⁢AP Female athlete of the Year and the ESPY Awards’ Best Female Athlete, noting she was nominated ‍for an ESPY this year.”I think it’s tough ⁤when there’s so much different criteria that goes into all of these different things and how these awards are kind of scored,” she explained. “I don’t know what all the criteria⁣ is. I’m just going to keep working hard.” She added with a laugh, “My husband looked at⁣ me ⁣and was‌ like, ‘You’re a winner in my eyes.’ And I joked. I was‌ like, ‘Maybe I needed one more world record to set it over the top.’ I think track and field is not at the ⁣forefront of American sports because ⁣of just our profile is a bit smaller. ⁢That’s where my hope for the L.A. (Olympics) is to really boost all of‌ our profiles in that sense.”

Title: Columbus Dispatch: A Look at Features & Entertainment Beat

by Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor October 19, 2025
written by Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor

Columbus Dispatch Arts⁣ & Entertainment Reporter⁤ Navigates a Beat of Constant Change

Columbus, ⁢OH – Belinda Paschal, the Columbus ‌Dispatch’s features and entertainment reporter, thrives on the city’s dynamic arts scene, balancing planned coverage‍ with the unpredictable nature ⁣of live events and artist ‍access. From major concert announcements to ⁣sifting ⁢through event submissions, Paschal’s role demands persistence, adaptability, ‍and‍ a deep connection to the ‌central Ohio community.

Paschal’s beat encompasses a broad spectrum⁢ of coverage, fueled by Columbus’s “rich arts and entertainment history” and a “vibrant, thriving community.” Unlike ⁤many reporters with rigid daily routines, Paschal’s schedule is often dictated by breaking news – particularly during the summer festival and concert season. “Other‌ than obsessively checking my email, ther isn’t really a routine day on my beat,” she notes, quoting robert Burns’ observation ⁣that even the best plans can be ‍disrupted.

A important aspect of her work involves securing interviews with artists, a ‍process‌ she describes as requiring ‍”persistence, ‌patience and⁢ persuasion.” While successful interviews are a highlight, Paschal acknowledges the frequent rejections‍ that come with the territory. Beyond high-profile encounters, she ‍dedicates time ⁤to curating the Dispatch’s weekly ⁤”10⁤ things to⁣ do in⁤ central Ohio” list,‍ relying ⁤on a meticulously organized email system to ⁣manage event submissions.

Recently, paschal highlighted the Wilds, a ⁢10,000-acre conservation center and safari park in ‍Muskingum County, in an August article. ⁣Working alongside Dispatch photographer Adam Cairns, she explored the center’s efforts in protecting endangered species through⁤ breeding ⁣programs, ecological recovery, and public education. Paschal described the experience of ‌observing rhinos, zebras, and other animals in⁤ a near-natural environment‌ as “truly awe-inspiring.”

Readers with entertainment-related ⁣story ideas,‍ event tips, or coverage suggestions‍ are encouraged to contact Belinda Paschal ⁤directly at bpaschal@dispatch.com.
