Ohio โขElementaryโค School Investigates Student-Created Lists Containing Classmates’ Names
WOOD COUNTY,โข Ohio (WTVG) – Otsego Local Schoolsโ is informing families about the discovery of two lists containing โคthe names โof elementary students, labeled “Kill List” and “Death Note.” Theโค listsโ were found duringโฃ an examination prompted by concerns regarding a student journaling on the schoolโข bus.
According toโ a memo from Superintendent โฃKevin O’Shea, the student’s journal included a list of fourth and fifth โคgraders described as being “zip-tied in a basement and harmed.”โข A threat assessment team,comprised ofโ district and law enforcement personnel,was instantly convened.
the investigation persistent there was no credible threat to โstudent safety,and no students were inโข danger. However, district officials stated the behavior is “unacceptable” and will be addressed according to school โฃguidelines.
“I also want to commend the student(s) who came forward โฃand reported their concerns,” Superintendent O’Shea stated. “They absolutelyโฃ did the right thing, and their willingness โฃto speak up allowed us to quickly ensure โขall students wereโ indeed safe.”
The districtโ plans to notify via email any student whose name appeared on either list โbefore the end of Monday.
