Reeperbahn Festival Wraps โขwith 43,000 โฃAttendees, Celebrates emergingโข Talent
HAMBURG, GERMANY โฃ- Theโค Reeperbahn Festivalโข concluded Sunday night afterโ four days of music, discussion, and discovery, drawing approximately โ43,000 visitorsโค to Hamburg’s St. โคPauli district. The festival showcased around 450 acts โขfromโข 30 nations across roughly 70 venues, โคoperating โunder the theme “Imagine Togenthernness!”
This year’s event โคplaced a strong emphasis โon the future โof live music, with industry representatives from culture, music, and politics convening toโ address the preservation of small venues – vital for artist development โค- and the implementation of fairer โขartist remuneration models. Surprise performances throughout the festival included appearances by Nina โขChuba,โ Zsรก Zsรก, Jolle, and Kraftklub.
Highlighting the โฃfestival’sโ commitment to โขemerging artists, American singer Mei Semones and her band โคwere awarded the Anchor โAward, the Reeperbahn Festival’s โYoung Talent Prize. Grammy-nominated songwriter Tayla Parx described the band as “unique, incomparable and in โthe best possible way,” adding, “She left โus a feeling ofโค ‘What the hell โฃwasโข that?’ and we likedโข that very much.” The โคjury, whichโฃ also included Rock icon Suzi Quatro, singer Max Giesinger, โavant-garde artistโ Laurie Anderson, and producer Bazzazian, was convinced Semones represents “anโค artistic voiceโ withโ the strength to redefine what mainstream can mean.”
