Munich, Germany – โฃChinese battery manufacturer Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited (CATL) unveiled its new Shenxing Pro electric โvehicle batteryโฃ in Munich, Germany, boasting both ultra-fast charging and extended range capabilities. The โขbattery is available in two variants: โฃa Super-Fast Charging version andโ a Superโค Long Life & Long โRange version.
Both Shenxingโข Proโ models โฃutilize Lithium Iron โฃPhosphate (LFP) materials and are engineered for high โคperformance, durability, and rapid charging. The key distinction lies in their prioritized features โ- longevity and distance for the Long Life &โค Long Range variant, and charging speed for the Super-Fast Charging version.
CATLโฃ claims the Super-Fast Charging variantโฃ can add 478 kilometers โขof range in just 10 minutes – equating to 0.8โ kilometers โขper second – and can โstillโค deliver upโค to 830 kW of power output even at a 20%โข state of charge. The super Long Lifeโฃ & Long Range variant achieves a WLTP-rated range of up to 758 kilometers withโ a projected lifespan โขof 12 years or 1 million kilometers, experiencing onlyโ 9% degradation after โ200,000 kilometers โof use.
Both variants incorporateโ CATL’s latest NP 3.0 (no Propagation 3.0)โฃ safetyโ system, designed to prevent fire or smoke propagation during thermal runaway, and allow for over an โhour of continued operation in emergency situations.โ The Shenxing Pro utilizes a Wave Cell design,featuring a unique shoulder structure and โspace-sharing technology to enhance cooling and structural rigidity by 25%,while increasing battery volume efficiency to 76%.
