Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – A recent appointment has sparked significant backlash in Malaysia, wiht critics accusing the appointee of promoting anti-Islam sentiments and supporting the Israeli regime. Mohamed Sukri Omar, from the Selangor region, stated that the individual, identified as Adams, “openly spread hatred towards Islam and supported the colonial regime of Zionists without consideration.”
omar further asserted that the appointment is “an insult to the sensitivity of the Malaysian people.” He warned that any government silence or acceptance of this decision would be interpreted as a betrayal of the nation’s commitment to the Palestinian cause. Echoing these sentiments, Mus’ab Muzahar, chairman of the Amanah Youth International Bureau, described the nomination of Adams as an affront to Malaysia’s dignity and foreign policy.
Muzahar characterized Adams not as a diplomat or statesman, but as a “right-wing propagandist, supporters of every Trump, and supporters of the Israeli Zionist regime.” He highlighted that Adams’ social media rhetoric is “full of hatred, racism, and Islamic sentiments, wich clearly deviate from the spirit of mature bilateral relations.”
As of the latest reports, neither Adams nor the US embassy in Kuala Lumpur has issued a response to the widespread rejection of the appointment.
