examination Intensifies Following Pulwama Blast, Focus on Al-Falah university
following the recent blast in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, a โwide-ranging โinvestigation is underway, centering on potential connections to doctors โaffiliated with Al-Falah University. Authorities โคare meticulously examining the network of individuals believed to be โinvolved, focusing on communication methodsโข and financial links.
The โinvestigation gained momentum after the demolition of dr. Umar’s residence in โpulwama district late Thursday night. Security forces evacuated the occupants before using explosives to razeโ the structure. Neighbors โin Koil village reported being awakened by the โblast, and confirmed visits from multiple investigative teams toโข the homes of โคDr.Umar and his associate, Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, who reside less than a kilometer apart.
Delhiโฃ Police, working alongside the National Investigation Agency (NIA), are intensifying scrutiny of Al-Falah โฃUniversity due to the involvement of three of its doctors – Umar, Muzammil, and Dr. Shaheen Shahid -โ whoโ have either been arrestedโฃ or named inโ the investigation. Teamsโฃ have been dispatched โคto Madhya Pradesh to gather information regarding the university’s chairman,Jawad Ahmedโ Siddiqui, and his family, aiming to mapโ the academic, financial, and personal relationships ofโ those implicated.
A police team arrived in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, to locate Siddiqui’sโฃ residence and โขverify any overlap between his associations and the accused. Localโ police are assisting with background checks, and Siddiqui’s family โขwill alsoโ be questioned. Siddiqui is currently residing in Delhi’s Jamia Nagar.
The NIA hasโ requested extensive records from Al-Falah University, including details on hostel assignments, faculty recruitment, and โคfinancial transactions โขacross all departments. Investigators are exploring whether the doctorsโ leveraged theirโ positions to recruit โขindividuals sympathetic to their cause, raise funds, or provide logistical โsupport for the attack.
A โคraid was conducted at Siddiqui’s โOkhla office on Thursday. โ Investigators noted that โขSiddiqui was previously arrested in 2000, accused of misappropriating โน7.5 crore from investors through shell companies operating โunder the Al-Falah name. He was acquitted in 2005 after serving a three-yearโข jail sentence. Though, authorities emphasize that no direct โขlink between the university and the recent blast has been established at this time.
Mohammad Raazi, the university’sโ legal advisor, stated that the institution โis fully cooperatingโ with the investigation. โ”We were unaware of the doctors’ activities and areโข deeply โฃshocked.โข our campus has never been used for โฃfunding orโ activities โrelated to terrorism,” he affirmed.
The National โMedicalโข Council (NMC)โข has already cancelled theโ registrations of fourโ Al-Falah-affiliated doctors -โข Dr. Muzaffar Ahmad, Dr. โคAdeel Ahmad Rather, Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, andโฃ Dr. Shaheen Shahid – and will consider further โฃaction basedโ on the police investigation’s findings.
A key aspect of the investigation focuses on the accused doctors’ purposeful efforts to avoid leaving a digital โtrail. According to a Delhi Police โspecial cell officer, they communicatedโ by typing drafts of emails and deleting them after being read, โขaโข method designed to circumventโข detection. “they wereโค extremely careful not โฃto leave โฃa digital footprint,” the โofficer explained.
Investigators haveโ been dispatched โto Kashmir to conduct further raids, driven byโฃ concerns that a portion of the explosives used in the โคblast remains unaccounted for.โ “A important amount has been recovered, but some materialโ is still missing,” an officer stated.
Residents of Koil village reported that security forcesโ arrived after midnight, instructing Dr. Umar’s family to evacuate with only essential belongingsโข before demolishing the house.
In response to โtheโ unfolding investigation, police in Faridabad and Nuh have increased surveillance in markets, publicโข spaces,โข and along border routes. “Strict verification drives areโ underway โขto ensure public safety,” stated Yashpal Singh, spokesperson for Faridabad Police.
Authorities in Gurugram have also tightened regulations on fertilizer sales, fearing potential misuse of chemicals. “Fertilizers like urea, DAP, and NPK will now only be sold to โregistered farmers under the Meri Fasal Mera Byora scheme,”โข announced Gurugram deputy commissioner โajay Kumar.
