Under the direction of GNINAHOPHIN Pierre OUATTARA, the outgoing General Director, Atlantic Cocoa has succeeded in positioning itself at the heart of local cocoa processing. The ACC plant can grind up to 48,000 tonnes of cocoa beans per year, with capacity expandable to 64,000 tonnes. Plans for a future capacity of 100,000 tonnes are also under consideration. ACC’s first cargo, of approximately 200 tonnes of cocoa mass, departed from the deep-water port of Kribi in December 2021 bound for the Netherlands. The challenges facing Josiane TCHOUNGUI include maintaining product quality (cocoa mass, butter, cake and powder) and ACC’s reputation as a major player in cocoa processing. She will also be expected to adapt ACC’s products to industry trends and remain competitive in the global market, while improving operational efficiency and supporting the company’s sustainable growth.

Josiane TCHOUNGUI also plans to strengthen relations with the Autonomous Port of Kribi (PAK), manager of the industrial zone, in order to promote a win-win partnership. It hopes for logistical support to facilitate operations, investments in transport and connectivity infrastructure, as well as a favorable investment climate.

Josiane TCHOUNGUI is an experienced professional, holding a master’s degree in management economics from the Catholic University of Central Africa in Yaoundé, a postgraduate diploma in management of banks and financial institutions from IESEG in Lille in France , and executive certificates in management from HEC Paris and in finance from the London Business School. She started her career in 1996 and held various positions in the banking sector before taking over the management of Orabank Benin in 2018.
