Neeraj Chopra Fails to Qualify for Finals at โworld Athletics Championships
Budapest, Hungary -โฃ Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra was eliminated from contention at the World Athletics Championships after failing to reach theโ qualifying mark in the men’s javelin throw. Chopra finished eighth falling short of the 85-meter threshold needed to advance to the final round.
Chopra’s series of throws included distances of 83.65m, 84.03m, a foul, 82.63m, and another foul at 83.65m. These results were insufficient to secure โa place โขamong the top six โฃcompetitors who will compete forโ the โchampionship title.
Despite Chopra’s early exit,Indian athlete Sachin yadav delivered a strong performance,achieving a personal best of 86.27m and finishing โfourth inโข his qualifying โgroup.โค Yadav previouslyโข won a silver medal at the Asian Games.
The qualifying round was led by Trinidad and Tobago’s Keshorn Walcott with a throwโค of 88.16m, followed by Curtis Thompson of โคthe โขUSAโข at 86.67m.
