by Priya Shah – Business Editor February 28, 2026

Turkey’s statistical authority, TÜİK, is scheduled to release February inflation data on March 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM local time, according to reports from multiple financial outlets.

Economists surveyed anticipate a monthly inflation rate of 2.87 percent for February, with estimates ranging from 2.30 percent to 3.39 percent. If realized, this would push the annual inflation rate to 31.42 percent, up from 30.65 percent in January, according to recent analyses.

The Turkish Central Bank’s (TCMB) February Market Participants Survey revealed an increase in inflation expectations. The survey, conducted among 71 professionals from the real and financial sectors, showed that the expected monthly increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose to 2.54 percent in February, compared to 2.05 percent the previous month. Expectations for year-end inflation similarly increased, climbing from 23.23 percent to 24.11 percent.

Bloomberg HT’s survey of 24 institutions indicated a median expectation of a 2.81 percent monthly increase in February, with an anticipated annual inflation rate of 31.35 percent. Economists surveyed by Bloomberg HT also set the median year-end inflation forecast at 24 percent.

These figures are closely watched as they will influence wage adjustments for civil servants and retirees, as well as rental increases. The TCMB has been emphasizing its commitment to a disinflation process, but market participants remain cautious, with expectations for inflation staying above 30 percent.

The February inflation data will be released as the country navigates a period of economic uncertainty, with the government and central bank focused on stabilizing prices. The next TCMB monetary policy committee meeting is scheduled for March 21, 2026, where policymakers will assess the latest inflation data and adjust monetary policy accordingly.
