KANSAS CITY, Mo.- A minor is in police custody following โขan assault at an NBAโ YoungBoy concert Sunday night at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri, leaving two people hospitalized.
Kansas City police responded to a call atโฃ approximately 9:30 p.m. regarding the incident during the Louisiana โขrapper’s performance. Officers reported that an assault occurred โฃinside the venue, resulting โin injuries to two individuals, including a โT-Mobile Center employee. Both where treated โฃon-site adn transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Video of the beating circulated widely on socialโฃ media. Policeโฃ confirmed a juvenile was detained in connection with โฃthe assault, but have not yet announced any charges.
T-Mobile Center officials โขreleasedโ a statement condemning the violence. “We are aware of an incident at last night’s NBA YoungBoy concert in which multipleโข T-Mobile Center team members were assaulted by a fan,” said Shani Ross, the โขarena’s vice president of sales and marketing. “Our โimmediate concern is theโ well-being of our staff who sustained serious injuries.They were treated on-site and later at a local hospital.”
Ross statedโฃ that the arenaโ reviews safety protocols before each event and is cooperating fully withโ law โenforcement. The โขT-Mobile Center regularlyโ employs off-duty officers for security during large events.
NBA YoungBoy’s “Make America Slime Again” tour is scheduled to continue through November. Performancesโฃ are planned in new Orleans on October 19 and 20. A concert previously scheduled for September 24 in Chicago has been cancelled.
