India and โIndonesia Deepen Defence โขCooperation, pledge Support โขfor a Stable โIndo-Pacific
New Delhi, [Date – Current Date] – Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and his Indonesian counterpart, Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, today co-chaired the third India-Indonesia Defence Ministers’โฃ Dialogue in โNew Delhi. Theโ meeting underscored the long-standing strategic partnership and growing bilateral defence cooperation between the two nations.
Both leaders โฃemphasized the critical importance of maintaining a free, open, peaceful, stable, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region, firmly grounded in international law and mutual respectโฃ for sovereignty. This shared vision reflects a commitment to regional security andโ stability โin a complex geopolitical landscape.
Duringโ the dialogue, India and Indonesia โฃagreed โคto considerably enhance their collaboration through multilateral frameworks, including the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA). A key focus will be on bolstering practical cooperation in crucial areas such as maritime domain awareness, strengtheningโ cyber resilience, and โคimproving joint operational readiness. Thisโฃ collaborative approach aimsโ to โaddress emerging security challenges effectively.
Indonesia โฃexpressed strong gratitude for India’s proposal to establish a โJoint Defence Industry Cooperation โฃCommittee. Thisโ committee will serveโฃ as a catalyst for deeper collaboration in technology transfer, joint Research and Advancement initiatives, harmonizing certification processes, and building robust supply-chain linkages. The move signals a commitment to fostering a self-reliantโฃ defence industrial base in both โcountries.
Theโ two countries also highlighted theโฃ success of their ongoing joint military exercises across land, maritime, and air forces.Theseโฃ exercises – including Super Garuda Shield, Garuda Shakti, Samudra Shakti, and MILAN – are vital for enhancing interoperability โand strengthening the bonds between the armed forces of โคboth nations.
Reaffirming โtheir commitment toโข maritime security, India and Indonesia discussed โขenhanced coordination in the Indian Ocean region. Moreover, discussionsโ extended to collaboration in defence medicine and pharmaceuticals, encompassing joint research, technology transfer, and training programs designed to bolster military healthโ resilience. Opportunities for cooperationโฃ in humanitarian assistance, post-conflictโ reconstruction, and multilateral peace efforts were also acknowledged.
In a display โฃof shared values, bothโฃ countries reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to a just and lasting peace in Palestine.
