Sydney: Third test cricket between Australia and South Africa ended in a draw.

Score: Australia declared 475 for 4 in the first innings. South Africa 149 for 6 in the first innings.

London: Success for Manchester United in the English Premier League. Newcastle United are level with Arsenal at the top of the table.

Everton were beaten at home by Brighton & Hove Albion, while Leicester City were beaten 1-0 by Fulham in front of their home crowd.

New Delhi: Olympic and Commonwealth Games medalist Saina Nehwal will not participate in the National Badminton Trials. Apart from Saina, Malvika Bansod will also not participate in the rehearsals. The trials of the Asian Mixed Team Championship will be held in Dubai from 14 to 19 February.

Former world number 1 PV Sindhu and Akarshi Kashyap are on trial. The Badminton Association of India clarified that Ashmita Chaliha was invited to the trials in Saina’s place. Palakkad: Asian Games Gold Medalist PU Chitra got married. The groom is Shaiju, son of Nenmara Cheramangalam Antazhi Ramakrishnan and the late Kamalam. Muttikulangara KAP Shaiju is a civilian police officer in two battalions. He currently in deputation in the State Industrial Protection Corps (Thrissur). The engagement was in September. The decision was made during training at the Bangalore athletic ground.

Chitra is the daughter of Unnikrishnan and Vasantakumari in the house of Mundur Palakkeez. Senior employee at Palakkad Railway Division. She won gold at the 2016 South Asian Games, 2017 Asian Championship, 2019 Doha Asian Games and bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games. The achievements were in the 1,500m dash.
