Prince Andrew Arrested: Latest on Misconduct in Public Office Probe

by Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor February 20, 2026
written by Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor

Former Prince Andrew has been released from police custody following an arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office, Thames Valley Police confirmed Thursday evening.

Andrew, 66, was taken into custody earlier Thursday at King Charles’ Sandringham estate in Norfolk, according to the BBC. He had been held for approximately 11 hours. A photograph circulated online showing Andrew leaving Aylsham Police Station in a vehicle.

“As part of the investigation, we have today (19/2) arrested a man in his sixties from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office and are carrying out searches at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk,” Thames Valley Police stated. “The man remains in police custody at this time.” Police declined to name the individual, citing national guidance and the ongoing nature of the investigation. They also cautioned against publication that could prejudice the case.

The arrest appears to be connected to Andrew’s time as a U.K. Trade envoy and follows the emergence of emails linked to the late Jeffrey Epstein, according to reporting by The Guardian.

Andrew has previously denied any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein.

King Charles issued a statement acknowledging the news, expressing “deepest concern” and affirming his support for a thorough investigation. “What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities,” the statement read. “In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and co-operation.”

The King emphasized the importance of due process, stating, “Let me state clearly: the law must take its course.” He concluded by saying that he would refrain from further comment whereas the investigation is underway and that he and his family would continue to fulfill their duties.

Savannah Guthrie’s Mother: SWAT Search Yields No Arrests in Kidnapping Case

by Emma Walker – News Editor February 15, 2026
written by Emma Walker – News Editor

A SWAT team operation Friday night in Tucson, Arizona, yielded no arrests in the case of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-ancient mother of NBC News’ Savannah Guthrie, who has been missing for nearly two weeks. Authorities detained three individuals – a man and a woman at a residence less than two miles from Guthrie’s home, and a second man during a traffic stop – but all were subsequently released, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

The operation, focused on a home near E Orange Grove Rd & N First Ave, unfolded after law enforcement received a lead in the investigation. “Law enforcement activity is underway… related to the Guthrie case. Due to the fact that Here’s a joint investigation, at the request of the FBI – no additional information is currently available,” the Pima County Sheriff’s Office stated on social media late Friday. CBS News reported the initial activity.

By Saturday morning, Sheriff Chris Nanos downplayed the significance of the operation, telling NewsNation’s Brian Entin, “Just tracking down leads. No arrests. And no signs of Nancy.” The department similarly told local affiliate KOLD that the search warrant stemmed from a lead that ultimately did not produce an arrest. This follows a similar incident earlier in the week, where a deliveryman, identified as Carlos, was briefly detained and then released without charges.

Guthrie was last seen on January 31st and reported missing February 1st after failing to appear for church, according to Fox 10 Phoenix. Authorities believe she was abducted from her home overnight. The FBI released a physical description of a male suspect earlier this week – described as approximately 5-foot-9 or 5-foot-10 with an average build – and increased the reward for information leading to her location to $100,000.

The investigation has not been without scrutiny. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has faced past controversies, including allegations of political interference with personnel decisions in the lead-up to his 2024 re-election, Fox News reported. Nanos placed two opponents on administrative leave, prompting accusations of suppressing dissent within the department.

Investigators have also revealed the discovery of DNA at Guthrie’s residence that does not belong to her or her close contacts, and are working to identify its source. Guthrie’s family has reportedly received ransom demands in Bitcoin, according to reports, though authorities have not confirmed these details. She requires daily medication, raising concerns about her well-being as the search continues.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is requesting that anyone within a two-mile radius of Guthrie’s home submit any potentially relevant footage from January 1st to February 2nd. As of Saturday, the investigation remains active, with no indication of Guthrie’s whereabouts.

Savannah Guthrie’s Mom Missing: Son-in-Law’s Home Searched, No Warrant Needed

by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor February 11, 2026
written by Lucas Fernandez – World Editor

FBI agents and Pima County Sheriff’s deputies have conducted multiple searches of the home of Annie Guthrie Cioni, sister of NBC’s Savannah Guthrie, as the investigation into the kidnapping of their mother, Nancy Guthrie, continues. The searches, which included a nighttime examination on Saturday, were conducted with the consent of Annie Cioni, despite her husband, Tommaso Cioni, being the last known person to see Nancy Guthrie before her disappearance.

Nancy Guthrie was last seen on January 31st, after having dinner at the Cioni’s home. Tommaso Cioni reportedly dropped her off at her Tucson home around 9:45 p.m., observing her enter through the garage. Investigators discovered drops of blood on Nancy Guthrie’s front porch, later confirmed to be hers. Her doorbell camera was disconnected at approximately 1:45 a.m., and movement was detected by her security camera less than thirty minutes later. Shortly after, her pacemaker stopped transmitting data, suggesting she had been moved outside the range of her devices.

Authorities released images on Tuesday of a masked individual tampering with Nancy Guthrie’s Nest doorbell camera on the night of her disappearance. The figure, clad in a ski mask and appearing to have a gun in a holster, was also seen removing the camera and waving flowers at the lens. FBI Director Kash Patel stated that the images were recovered from backend systems after investigators worked to access previously inaccessible data. The images were released after investigators requested DNA swabs from Nancy Guthrie’s household staff.

Despite Tommaso Cioni being a person of interest, law enforcement has been permitted to search the couple’s $675,000 ranch-style home without a warrant, due to Annie Cioni’s consent. Legal precedent, established in the 2006 Georgia v. Randolph and 2014 Fernandez v. California Supreme Court cases, allows police to search a shared residence with the consent of one occupant, even if another occupant objects or is not present. Pima County and federal records reveal no applications for warrants to search the property, indicating that consent was granted for all searches.

Tommaso Cioni, 50, has not been publicly seen since February 3rd, when he and Annie were observed leaving and returning to their home by the Daily Mail. He and Annie, who have been married since 2006 and have one child, are believed to be staying at a $1.2 million mansion within a gated community. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has stated that no one has been ruled out as a suspect in the kidnapping.

Annie Guthrie has made public appeals for her mother’s safe return, appearing alongside Savannah Guthrie to share the newly released security camera footage. A man detained for questioning in Rio Rico on Tuesday has since been released. Investigators are continuing to analyze evidence, including a ransom note that reportedly referenced a floodlight at Nancy Guthrie’s home, prompting its removal by investigators.
