School Bus Involved in Crash Near San โAntonio; Students Evaluated
A โschool bus crash occurred early Thursday, december 4th, impacting โคstudents of the Somerset Autonomousโ School โขDistrict. โThe incident took place aroundโ 6 a.m. near Highway โ16 and Encino Road, on the southwestern outskirtsโฃ of San Antonio.
Somerset ISD officials confirmed that all students on boardโ were โฃevaluated following the crash. Threeโ students wereโข released โto their families at the scene. โA school bus aide required further โmedical attention and,accordingโ to a Facebook post fromโ the district,is currently in stable condition.โค The district expressed optimism for a “smooth and speedy recovery” for the aide, and reported the bus driver โis doing well.
Somerset ISD serves a wide geographic area ofโ 86 โmiles, encompassing seven campuses: โขthree โคelementaryโฃ schools, two middle schools, a high school, and an early college โleadership academy. The destination campus of the students involved in the crash has not been โreleased.
