FR-Alertโค System Tested Across 19 รle-de-France Municipalities This Week
Residents in 19 municipalities across โฃรle-de-France will receiveโ test alerts โvia the FR-Alert system this week, beginningโ Monday, as โคauthoritiesโฃ evaluate the region’s emergency alert capabilities. The tests, โdesigned to assess the alert and information chain for populations in flood situations, โฃwill not require any action from residents, and officials urge the public not to contact emergency services โขor spread โmisinformation.
The testing schedule includes Seine-et-Marne on Monday between 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., and again between noon and 12:30 p.m. in La Fertรฉ-Gaucher. Wednesday will see alerts sent to Essonne (10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Athis-Mons,โข Juvisy-sur-Orge, Vigneux-sur-Seine and Viry-Chรขtillon), Seine-saint-Denis (11 a.m. to 2 p.m. โขin Saint-Denis, Saint-Ouen, L’รle-Saint-Denis, Neuilly-sur-Marne, Gournay-sur-Marne and Noisy-le-Grand),โ Val-de-Marne (11:30 a.m. to noon in Alfortville, Ivry-sur-Seine, nogent-sur-Marne, Saint-Maur-des-Fossรฉs, Joinville-le-Pont, Crรฉteilโ and Orly), and Paris (1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.in the Beaugrenelle district – 15th arrondissement).
According to the police headquarters, theโข FR-Alert system is intended to quickly reach รle-de-France residents. โThose within the test areas will receive a notification and be offered โฃa questionnaire to provide feedback “for the improvementโ of โคthe system.”
In a โrelated exercise, the City of Paris will conduct a simulated evacuation of a building at 109, โคquai de l’Hรดtel โde Ville (4th arrondissement)โ on Monday, involving 60 volunteers,โ to replicate a โขflood exceeding the historic level of 8.62 meters. The authoritiesโ aim toโ “verify the proper articulation of these tools” and their effectiveness inโ a crisis.
