An attack against the former mayor of Athens, Kostas Bakoyannis, was launched by the current mayor of the capital, Haris Doukas, for the company “Anaplasi Athens S.A.” As Mr. Doukas mentions, Mr. Bakoyannis remains president of the company even today, while the operating status of this company remains unclear.

It is recalled that a related uproar had also erupted last December, when after the amendment introduced by the government to the bill of the Ministry of Finance, “Regeneration of Athens S.A.” it changed hands and from the Municipality of Athens it passed entirely to the Government.

In particular, the mayor of Athens, in his intervention at the Municipal Council, stated: “You, Mr. Bakoyannis, remain president in Anaplasis. And I am looking to find out if this regulation has progressed in its essence and if something is being done at the moment. And I noticed this: To this day, after searching the General Commercial Register, the new company does not appear to be registered, the board does not appear to be registered and operating.

On the contrary, the previously operating company Anaplasi Athens S.A. continues its operation and its board of directors remains active, that is you. Well done. In fact, he hastened to publish the financial statements for the year 2021, on January 11, 2024. What exactly is going on here? In other words, how are the projects running today, when the necessary publications have not been made to complete the establishment of the company “Redevelopment of public spaces SA”? Has the new company, which has not yet gained publicity, entered into the current contracts?

Haris Doukas is not on the Board of Directors of the Acropolis Museum

At the same time, Mr. Doukas remains outside the Board of Directors of the Acropolis Museum. While it is customary for the mayor of Athens to be a member of the Board of Directors, looking at the members one can see that former mayor Kostas Bakoyannis remains a regular member. On the contrary, Mr. Doukas, although he has been performing the duties of mayor for two months, has not yet entered the Board of Directors.

In fact, according to information from vima.gr, the Board of Directors of the Acropolis Museum had recently refused to grant an interview with the mayor of Athens, Haris Doukas, on the balcony of the Museum’s restaurant on behalf of the French news agency AfP.
