This results in the transfer of female guests to other places, exacerbating the sense of insecurity they experience. This closure also means that new incidents cannot be accommodated, leaving many victims of violence without support. Mr. Bakoyiannis commented ironically: “Really, women are not abused in August?”
Center for Combating Gender-Based Violence and Multiple Discrimination: At a time when gender-based violence and discrimination have increased, the Municipality of Athens has decided to close the only center dedicated to victims of violence and discrimination.
