TUCSON, Ariz. – Southern Arizona is bracing for a mix of summer-like heat and potential thunderstorms โฃas the official start of fall arrives Monday. While overnight temperatures will offer a slight reprieve, daytimeโฃ highs will remain well above seasonal averages through Wednesday.
The transition to fall willโ be gradual. Residents canโ expect isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms each day through the middle of next week, with the possibility of stronger storms impacting parts of Southeast Arizona later in the week. Temperatures โคare currently running 3 to 6 degrees warmerโข than average, a continuation of the summer heat. Overnight lows โฃwill vary across theโ region, dipping into the 60s for Cochise and Santa Cruz counties, including a low of 66 degreesโข expected in โSierra Vista. Tucsonโข will see a warmer low of 74 degrees,while most of Pima County will โremain inโ the 70s.
Tuesday’s forecast calls for a high of 95 degrees in Tucson and similar conditions across much of Pima County.
