Johan Derksen ​has voiced strong disapproval of Mohamed ⁤Ihattaren’s recent⁤ declaration that he prefers to represent Morocco’s ​national team over​ the⁤ Netherlands. The Fortuna Sittard player’s decision‌ has drawn criticism from the dutch football ​personality.

“it’s a disaster ⁣with Ihattaren,” Derksen stated on the ‍ Greetings from⁢ Grolloo podcast. “All hope ⁣for the World Cup rested ⁢on Ihattaren. He was the most important⁣ talent in ​the Netherlands. Had he been mentally stable, he would ⁤currently be playing for clubs like FC Barcelona or Manchester City. Everyone in the Netherlands has ‌supported him,offering a helping hand.”

Derksen continued,explaining the impact of personal tragedy. “His father’s ‌death ‌led him ⁢to lose his way,” he said. “While I understand‍ a ⁣grieving young man might falter,he’s been using his father’s death‍ as an excuse for years. That period of grief is over.”

The pundit then highlighted⁤ Ihattaren’s struggles at previous clubs. “He ​has failed at PSV, Ajax, and Slavia Prague,” Derksen noted.”He’s not in shape,still overweight,and⁣ far from his ⁣previous form. Placing him in an apartment in Sittard will only exacerbate the problems. It’s unacceptable that a 23-year-old is both overweight and unfit.”

“I don’t believe it at all,”‍ Derksen asserted. “To reject all the support from the Netherlands and declare a⁢ preference for Morocco is ⁤shocking. I ⁤hope I’m wrong, as we’re talking about one of the greatest talents the Netherlands‍ has produced.⁢ However, he’s a‍ disappointment and lacks character.”
