Emilia Dides Steps Down as Miss Grand Chile Representative
Personal Reasons Cited for Withdrawal Amid Contract Dispute
Model Emilia Dides has officially confirmed her withdrawal from representing Chile at the Miss Grand International pageant. The announcement comes after a period of public discussion regarding her participation.
Contractual Dispute Resolved
Weeks prior, Dides had declared her intention not to compete, which led to an accusation of “breach of contract” from Marion de Giorgis, the director of Miss Grand Chile. Giorgis, speaking on the “Only Fame” program, detailed that Dides had initially signed an agreement but later proposed a financial settlement of 5 million, which was not accepted.
โAfter private conversations and in the best terms, Emilia Dides will not be part of Chile’s representation process in Miss Grand International 2025. The reasons are strictly personal and they have been understood and accepted by our organization with total respect.โ

However, a resolution has now been reached, allowing Dides to step away from the contest amicably. The organization emphasized its stance against any form of negativity.
โAs an organization and together with Emilia, we firmly declare that we do not validate any kind of violence, declassification or hate speech (…) we call on the community to respect this decision, not to speculate no longer disseminate versions away from truth.โ

A Temporary Farewell, Not an End
Taking to her Instagram stories, Emilia Dides shared her feelings about the decision.
โWith great grief I had to make the decision not to be part of that contest this year. However, it is not a farewell because I love the work of representing my country, of having my flag there abroad.โ

She expressed gratitude to the organization, particularly to Marion, for her trust and dedication to the project. Dides assured that there are no misunderstandings between them and that they both wish each other well.
โThe truth is that I only have to thank because, for reasons of force majeure, I will not be able to be a part and I just want them to know, and never forget, that I will always be a person who will be faithful to their principles and their values.โ
