‘Married at First Sight’ Couple Splits, Disputes Arise Over Songwriting Credits
Budapest – Zsolt Horvรกth, aโข participantโข in teh Hungarian reality television show Married at First Sight, has confirmed โฃhis separation from Rebeka Deรกk, with the split โbecoming increasingly public amid โคdisagreementsโ over intellectual property rights related to their โcollaborative musical work. Horvรกth indicated to Blikk that any disputes should be directed to his legal counsel, signaling a breakdown in attempts โat a peaceful resolution.
The couple, who met and “married” as โขpart of the TV2 program,โข attempted a discreet end โto their relationship, hoping to preserve a positive connection. However, the separation has unfolded withโ Rebeka Deรกk publicly detailingโ a dispute over songwriting credits and financial arrangements concerning songs created during their time together. The disagreement centers on the ownershipโ and royalties ofโ tracks, including “Big Wall,” which Deรกk asserts originated as her idea.
Deรกk told Blikkโฃ sheโ has a signed agreement with Horvรกth outlining shares in their songs. She claims Horvรกth contributed to already partially completed โwork, and that he later disengaged from both theโ songwriting and production processes-including music videos-leaving her to complete the projects independently. “For both songs he was involved with, he droppedโ out after โthe first round: I did the filming all by myself, and โฃhe โdidn’t deal with the songs or the music videos any further,” Deรกk stated.
She further explained that her ongoing work with Magneoton, a โคHungarian record label, required clarity regarding song ownership percentages, prompting a formalization of the agreements with Horvรกth. Deรกk’s comments suggest sheโข believes Horvรกth’s contributions do not warrant equal ownership, given his limited involvement in the completion of the songs.
