Economist Emmanoel Schmidt Rondon Named President โofโฃ Brazil‘s Post Office
Brasรญlia – Emmanoel โคSchmidt โขRondon has been appointed the new president of Brazil’s Post Office (Correios), approved by โthe company’s Board โof Directors on Friday, July 19th. He is expected too assume the role on Monday, Julyโ 22nd, succeeding โFabianoโข Silva dos Santos,โ who resigned earlier in july adn concluded his tenure on Thursday, July 18th.
Schmidt โคRondon takes leadershipโฃ of the Post Office during aโ period ofโค significant financial challenge. The company reported the largest โdeficit among Brazilianโ state-ownedโฃ enterprises โin 2024 andโ incurred a billion-real loss in the first half ofโ the year.
Rondonโข brings 25 years โof experiance in theโข financial market to the position.โ He holds a degree in Economics fromโ the Fluminenseโ Federalโค University โค(UFF) and โฃcompleted business administration training at โคthe Brazilian Capital Market Institute (IBMEC).
Prior to this appointment, schmidt Rondon โservedโ as Executiveโค Managerโ at the Banco do Brasil Infrastructure, Supplyโฃ and Heritage Directorate, and is a long-term employee of Banco doโ Brasil. He also previously acted as an advisor to previ,โค the Bancoโ do Brasil employees’ Welfare Fund.
His nomination โขwas supported by the Civil โhouse, the ministry โheaded by Rui Costa, who advocated for Schmidt Rondonโ as โฃa โskilled technicianโค capable of implementing necessary โคadjustments within the institution.
