European funds do not reach the automotive industry in Burgos

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com February 26, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

The auxiliary automotive industry, research centers and the University have had little direct participation in the first allocation of funds from the Strategic Project for the Recovery and Economic Transformation (PERTE) of the Electric and Connected Vehicle (VEC), one of the vessels insignia of European Next Generation funds. They are 2.2 million euros captured by Burgos in loans and subsidies of a total of 793 million granted to the automotive industry in Spain, most of which will be used to finance the tractor projects of the first car manufacturers.

Only two local companies (Benteler and Grupo Antolin) appear on the first fund allocation list approved in January by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism. The reduced presence confirms the difficulty of small and medium-sized local companies to participate -individually or cooperatively- in the most important European industrial plan to face the new model of sustainable mobility and the end of fossil fuels in the automotive sector, set in the horizon of 2035.

The most ambitious local project of the PERTE by financed budget is the one promoted from Benteler. They are 4.6 million euros, for which the Villalonquéjar industry receives a loan of 465,551 euros and a grant of 1.1 million. The same company has approved another project of 17,325 euros and subsidized with 8,662.

These investments, they clarify from this multinational, are part of projects of the first manufacturers for which they work, which have not been detailed because they are subject to confidentiality protocols. However, the efforts of PERTE are focused on industrial developments focused on the decarbonisation of the car park and the commitment to connectivity and sustainable mobility.

The needs (and confidentiality) of the leading manufacturers also meet the projects of Grupo Antolin Ingeniería, which has five projects in this first call that have a total budget of 1.9 million euros. The Burgos multinational receives 185,880 euros in loans and 466,382 euros in subsidies, according to the resolution approved by the Ministry.
In Castilla y León as a whole, actions worth 41.5 million have been mobilized and approved. Valladolid, with a financed budget of 29.5 million, is the province that captures the most money in the first PERTE call, mainly due to the activity of Renault, a leading company that promotes more than 25.6 million in the region alone.

After Valladolid, there is Palencia and the Benteler MPPU project, at the Venta de Baños plant, with a budget of 5.3 million euros.

Arcelor obtains the first aid for decarbonization while waiting for the bulk

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com February 22, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

ArcelorMittal has obtained the first European aid for the green transformation plan from its factory in Gijón. At the moment they are only 7.5 million euros between direct subsidies and loans to address environmental improvements at the future electric steel mill. The company is still awaiting the approval of the European Commission for aid of 500 million euros that will make it possible to address the investment of 1,000 million to decarbonise the steel facilities in Gijón and guarantee its future.

The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism has just published the final resolution proposal for the line of aid for innovation and sustainability in the field of industry manufacturing in 2022 within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. 76 projects have benefited that will receive a public investment of European funds of 115 million euros between loans and grants.

In the list of beneficiaries there is only one project in Asturias, the one presented by ArcelorMittal for the environmental improvement of the future electric steelworks in Gijón. The planned investment is almost 9.4 million euros and the company has obtained a grant of 939,812 euros and a loan of 6,578,688 euros. In total there are more than 7.5 million that exceed the 6 million that Industry had initially authorized in the provisional list of the call.

It is the first aid from European funds for the decarbonization of ArcelorMittal in Asturias waiting for the planned 500 million euros to address the replacement project for one of the two blast furnaces in Gijón. That facility will be replaced by a direct iron ore reduction plant (DRI system) using green hydrogen and by a hybrid electric arc furnace powered by pre-reduced iron, scrap and renewable energy. Sources from the European Commission indicated that the go-ahead for public support to address this investment of 1,000 million euros will arrive before the end of the year. It is establishing a financing scheme that is not considered as State aid that interferes with competition.

The aid that Arcelor has just obtained is for improvements in that future green steel mill. Specifically, for the cooling and dedusting system of the electric arc furnace, for an injector of pre-reduced iron fines (DRI) directly into the furnace and for the so-called ‘elephant house’, which is an encapsulation with soundproof panels of the complete cubicle of the electric furnace, attached to the structure of the steelworks, which includes the waiting area for the scrap baskets.

JAKARTA, RADARKAUR.CO.ID – Faced with soaring conventional fuel prices, the government has come up with a new solution. That is to say, change BBM to CNG or Gas Fuel (BBG), which is currently a hot topic of conversation.

Why methane with the official GasKu brand is sold at super cheap prices.

The current price of natural gas is IDR 3,100 per litre. Although it is planned to increase to IDR 4,100 per lsp, it is still cheaper than the price of Pertalite.

Methane with the GasKu brand is present through SPBG (Gas Refueling Stations). Although only present in some areas of Indonesia. However, the number is expected to continue to grow.

Furthermore, Pertamina continues to carry out a series of tests and claims that once filled with full CNG tanks, the bikes can travel 100km.

The emergence of methane is considered a replacement fuel for BBM equivalent to Pertamax Turbo 98.

So, in particular, the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia issued a press release regarding the process of transferring BBM vehicles to BBG by installing a Converter Kit.

The Converter Kit is a distribution component for CNG or Compressed Natural Gas that comes from methane gas compressed at high pressure. So that CNG can compete with BBM as a vehicle fuel.

Indeed methane, in this case the installation of the Converter Kit, has been introduced by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources since 2012, but is not yet well known to the public. In general, methane is widely used by residents living in natural gas producing areas.

The selling price of methane is estimated only by Rp. 3000 per liter with quality equal to the subsidized fuel. Furthermore, a usability test was carried out with the use of natural gas on cars, motorcycles and traditional fishing boats.
