Nile Valley Hospital, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Population, launched the Fetal Health Initiative, in order to preserve fetuses free of chronic diseases, to ensure generations free of disease.

Dr. Hazem Khamis, Director General of Wadi El Nil Hospital and Head of the Fetal Health Initiative, confirmed during the launching activities of the Fetal Health Initiative today that the initiative aims to create an integrated healthy climate for fetuses and mothers throughout the pregnancy period, in order to ensure new generations free of diseases.

Dr. Hazem Khamis added that the initiative provides distinguished medical examinations for the mother, for early detection of any diseases to which the fetus may be exposed, indicating that the initiative aims to fully raise awareness of pregnant mothers, those about to get married, and newly married women.

Dr. Sherif Rashid, Chairman of the Board of Directors of a private company, said that the initiative works on a number of axes, the first of which is raising awareness, the second of which is conducting early examinations to detect diseases during pregnancy, and the third of which is launching model training programs for doctors in accordance with the latest treatment protocols.

Dr. Sherif Rashid explained that the initiative targets a number of different groups, namely newly married women, those about to get married, and pregnant women, noting that the coming period will witness great cooperation with the Ministry of Health in health units in the governorates, especially the units that are located within the circle of villages of the Decent Life Initiative.

Dr. Maya Morsi, President of the National Council for Women, said that the fetal health initiative is an important initiative, and its importance lies in protecting the mother and fetus from all diseases and complications that guarantee a healthy life for the fetus free of diseases, and she continued: The Ministry of Health is making a great effort in providing women and fetal health services.” Adina said that 27 million women between the ages of 15 and 45 have important needs and need integrated care, especially with regard to reproductive health.

For his part, Dr. Mohamed Hassani, Assistant Minister of Health for Health Initiatives, said that the initiative will be part of the President of the Republic’s initiative for maternal and fetal health, but it will provide advanced health services and medical examinations for pregnant women or those planning to become pregnant, indicating that the initiative will undertake training and medical education for doctors on the latest therapeutic protocols. To confront diseases and problems of pregnancy that negatively affect the health of the fetus, indicating that the initiative will begin providing its services in the health units of the Decent Life villages.

Dr. Tamer Essam, head of the Egyptian Medicines Authority, pointed out that the Egyptian state aims to provide the highest level of quality in medical services, adding that the fetal health initiative is important to provide full support to fetuses and pregnant women in order to ensure generations free of the disease.

In the same context, Dr. Bahaa Zidan, Chairman of the Unified Purchasing Authority, said that the Authority is working in difficult circumstances and great challenges, but it is fighting to provide the patient’s medicine, as well as providing all modern therapeutic protocols.
