Inquiry into Miguel Uribe Turbay’s Murder Reveals Funds Linked to Venezuela
Presidentialโ candidate Miguel Uribe Londoรฑo recently shared details from the Attorney General’s office investigation into the murder of his son, Miguel Uribe Turbay, during an interviewโ with La โFM.
According to Uribe Londoรฑo, the investigation has revealed that the funds used to pay the approximately eight individuals involved in the assassination ofโ the senator and presidential pre-candidate originated in Venezuela. He โclarified, however, that this financial link does not automatically identify the mastermind behind โคtheโข crime.
Uribe Londoรฑo statedโ that this connection to Venezuela is significant andโ could โฃhave implications for the venezuelan government. Heโ emphasized the ongoing need to determine who within Colombiaโข issued the order and who the intellectual author of the murder is.
The Attorneyโค General’s Office investigation has already lead to the identification of those directly involved in the attack and the arrest ofโ a suspect known as “El โViejo.” Authorities believe “El Viejo” is connected โคto the ‘Second Marquetalia‘ criminal group, operating โคunderโ the leadership of Ivรกn Mordisco.Aโฃ Bogotรก judge has ordered “El Viejo”โ to beโค held in โcustody, following his arrest in Puerto โLleras (Meta). He is accused of acting as a liaison between the individuals who planned the assassinationโ and the criminal group that carried it out.
Uribe Londoรฑo further asserted that the ‘Second Marquetalia’ operates from Venezuela and engages in criminal activity within the country,โข allegedly โคwith the approval of both Gustavo โPetro โand Nicolรกs Maduro.
