ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Navy extended itsโค winningโ streak to seven games with a 21-13 โคvictory over Rice on Saturday, โขfueled by a dominant rushing โคattack and aโ stifling defense. Quarterback Blake Horvath led the Midshipmen with 110 rushing โคyards and two touchdowns,while Alex Tecza added 104 yards on the ground.
The win marks the first โฃtime since the 1978-79 seasons that Navy โฃhas started 4-0 in consecutive years. This victory solidifiesโ Navy’s position โin the Americanโฃ athletic Conference and continues a period of sustained success for the program, building momentum as they navigate the remainder of theirโค schedule.
Horvath found the end zone on an โข8-yard run in the second quarter and a 2-yard โrun in the โฃfourth. Luke Hutchinson opened the scoring with a 2-yard reverse. Navy โamassed 283 rushing yards and 455 total yards,with Horvath completing 8 of 13 passes for 172 yards โฃand one interception.
Rice (3-2, 1-1) managed only 234 total yards, with their scoring coming late in the game.โค Enoch Gota connected on field โฃgoals of 35 and 44 yards, and Chase Jenkins threw a 3-yard touchdown passโฃ to Draydenโฃ Dickmann in the fourth โquarter.
