Barcelona Frustrated by Fermín LópezS Silence as Chelsea Interest Looms
Barcelona are growing increasingly frustrated wiht midfielder Fermín López’s lack of interaction regarding his future, as Chelsea continue to push for his signature. The Catalan club is awaiting clarity from the player, with a potential Premier League move hanging in the balance.
López recently joined up with the Spanish national team following a match against Rayo Vallecano, but has remained publicly silent on his intentions. This silence has fueled uncertainty within both the Barcelona dressing room and boardroom, especially after news of Chelsea’s interest emerged.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has reportedly spoken directly with López, promising him a central role in his project and presenting a “highly attractive financial package.” While Chelsea are believed to have offered around €58 million, Barcelona value the player at €90 million and are unwilling to negotiate below that figure unless López expresses a desire to leave.
Barcelona sporting director Deco reportedly gave López’s camp a 48-hour window to clarify his position, which expired on Sunday during Barcelona’s match against Rayo. However, no response has been forthcoming.
Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has personally reassured López of his importance to the squad, and senior teammates have urged him to remain at the Camp Nou to continue his development. Despite these efforts, the club remains in a state of limbo, awaiting a decision from the midfielder to resolve the ongoing saga.
