Alas Pilipinas Men Secure Fourth Place in Southeast Asia V.League Leg 2
Alas Pilipinas Men concluded the second leg of the 5th southeast Asia V.league with a fourth-place finish. The team fell to Vietnam in a four-set match on Sunday night at the Jakarta International Velodrome.
The Philippines finished the second leg with a 1-3 record, placing just above the winless cambodian team. This result marked a reversal from the first leg, where the Philippines had defeated Vietnam in straight sets.
Prior to this defeat, Alas Pilipinas Men had achieved three consecutive victories against Vietnam in the SEA V.League. The streak dated back to the first leg of the 2024 edition of the tournament.
After narrowly losing the opening set, the Philippine team rallied. Jade disquitado,Michaelo Buddin,and Kennedy Batas led the charge,helping Alas Pilipinas secure a 25-21 win in the second set.
However, Vietnam regrouped with intense focus, aware that a podium finish was within their grasp.holding a slim 12-11 lead in the third set, Vietnam executed a strong 13-6 run to claim the set 25-17.
