Lawโค Enforcement Agencies โCrack Downโ on Impaired โDriving, Resulting โฃin 49 Arrests
RENO, Nev. – A coordinated DUI enforcement effort across Nevada and California on Saturday evening, November 29th, led to the arrest of 49 individuals suspected of drivingโข under the influence, according to the Nevada โขHighwayโฃ Patrol (NHP).
The initiative, a collaborative โeffort involving multiple law enforcement agencies, saw officers conductโข 818 traffic stopsโข and issue 414 citations. Of the 49 arrests made, 38 were specifically โฃfor DUI.โ
Participating agenciesโ included the NHP, boulder city Police Department,โข Story County Sheriff’s Office,โฃ North Las Vegas police โdepartment, Lyon County โSheriff’s Office, Las Vegas โmetro Police Department, Henderson Police Department, Clark County School District Police, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas โขCounty Sheriff’s Office, Carson โCity Sheriff’s Office, โคandโข theโ California Highway Patrol.
This year’s blitz marked the second annual event dedicated to โtheโ memory of NHP Sgt. Michael โคAbbate and Trooper Alberto Felix, who wereโ tragically killed by aโข drunk โฃdriver while on duty in Las Vegas on Novemberโข 30, 2023.
“Their legacy lives on throughโฃ the continued commitment of the men and womenโข who serve our communitiesโ every day,and theirโข sacrifice will never be forgotten,” stated the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office โขin a Facebook post.The collaborative effort underscores a shared commitment to removing impaired drivers from the โขroads andโ preventing future โtragedies.
