Cowboys Already Have Trade in Place, Jerry Jones Reveals
FRISCO, TXโ – Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones announced โฃMonday the team has already completed โone trade and is โpossibly pursuing up too two more beforeโ the NFL tradeโฃ deadline onโฃ Tuesday.โค Jones indicated โคthe acquired player will be an immediate contributor, addressing current team weaknesses.
“Instantly โit will have themโ on the field and it will address some of the things that have been our shortcomings,” Jones โsaid, according โto Theโค Dallas Morning News. Heโค did not โฃdiscloseโ the player’s identity.
The โฃCowboys’ need for defensive โreinforcements is acute. Currently 3-4-1, Dallas ranks last in the โฃNFC in both total defense and points allowedโ heading into theirโฃ Week 9 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals on “Monday Night football.” This defensive struggle โisโฃ a primary driver behind the team’s reported aggressive โฃapproach to the trade market.
Jones’ comments come after โขrecent radio โappearances where he discussed the Cowboys’ strategy leadingโข up to โฃthe deadline. Though, the owner’s history of prematurely announcing deals – notably a past situation involving edge rusherโข Micah Parsons – โadds a degree of uncertainty.โค
The outcome ofโ Jones’ stated intentions will be known โwithin 24 hours.
