Gyeongbuk Office of Education Hosts Accomplished 2025 Robot Championship Festival
Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk Province – The Gyeongbuk Officeโ of Education successfully held theโ “2025 Gyeongbuk Education Robot Championship (RC) Festival” on the โ8th at The K Hotel Gyeongju. The event, a โขkey โคcomponentโข of โฃtheโ province’s โฃcreative and convergence education initiatives, brought togetherโฃ 51 students – forming 17 โteams – from 4th to 6th grade elementary schools, alongside 13 instructors.
The festival centered around a team competition utilizing โthe ‘Robomaster S1‘โข robot. teams of three studentsโ engaged in strategic gameplay, โขcompleting missions involving object manipulation, target practice, and point capture withinโ a timed tournament format. The competition was live-streamed on โฃthe Gyeongbuk Office of โEducation’s official YouTube channel,’Matcool Meotcool TV’,attracting a notable online audience. Awards were presented to one winning team, one excellent team, and two teams receiving encouragement awards, recognized with the Superintendent of Education award.
Beyond โthe competition, the festival featured an interactive “robot rescue team” themed experience booth,โ titled ‘Save the โขcity of the future!’.This booth โoffered hands-on activities forโข studentsโค and parents, including “Debris Removalโ Operation” with an โคadsorption robot arm, a “Recovery Mission” using assembled robots, “Energy Battery Delivery Operation” with transport robots, and a drone-based โฃ”Rescuer Searchโ Operation.” Participants who completed all โmissions receivedโ a ‘Mission success Stamp’ and โขsmallโ prizes.
The festival aimed to strengthen students’ STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, โฃMathematics) skills, fostering โคcreative thinking and problem-solving abilities applicable โto real-world scenarios. Team-based โคactivities also focused on improving communication skills and โคdigital โคliteracy, cultivatingโ competencies essential for future success.โข The event also served as a family-oriented educationalโ experience, โbroadening understanding of robotics and AI and sparking interest โin future career paths.
