Doubs led the Green Bay Packers in receptions (55) and receiving yards (724) in 2025. He tied for the team-lead in touchdown receptions (six) and also had a sensational playoff game against Chicago (eight catches, 124 yards, one TD).
But Doubs — who will become an unrestricted free agent in March — almost certainly will be in a different uniform in 2026.
The Packers have terrific wide receiver depth with Christian Watson, Jayden reed, and Dontayvion Wicks. All three are under contract for at least the next two seasons, and the Packers are likely to add another receiver in the draft.
That makes Doubs expendable, and several teams are expected to have interest. According to sources, the Chicago Bears, Carolina Panthers, and New England Patriots are all potential suitors.
The Bears make the most sense. They have the cap space and desperately need receiving help for young quarterback Caleb Williams. Doubs, who is entering his prime, woudl be a meaningful upgrade over their current options.
The Panthers also have cap space and are rebuilding under a new coach. they could view Doubs as a key piece of their offense.
The Patriots, simultaneously occurring, are in a similar situation. They have the resources to spend and need to give Drake Maye reliable targets.
Doubs’ market value is expected to be in the $8-10 million per year range. He’s a proven player who can contribute instantly, and several teams will be willing to pay that price.
Ultimately, the Bears appear to be the frontrunner, but the Panthers and Patriots could make a run at him. Wherever he ends up, Doubs is poised to make a significant impact.
