Trump Says He Believes Situation in Ukraine Will Be ‘Resolved’ Amid Recent Attacks
WASHINGTON D.C. – โ Following a massive Russian shelling of Ukraine on September 7, U.S. President Donald Trump โคstated he believes the situation in Ukraine will be “resolved,” though expressed dissatisfaction with the ongoing conflict. CNN reported onโ the President’s comments.
“I amโ not excited about what is happening there. I believe that we are resolving it. But Iโ am โขnot satisfied with them.โข I am not satisfied withโค anything โฃthat is connected with thisโค war,” Trump toldโฃ reporters.
the Presidentโข alsoโ indicatedโ he plans to speak with โRussian โPresident Vladimir Putin โ”over the next few days” and anticipates discussing the war with โEuropean โleaders visiting โthe White House onโข Monday or Tuesday. “I think that we will settle this issue,” Trump said.
The comments come after widespread international condemnation of the recent Russian strikes. Czechโฃ Foreignโ Minister Jan Lipavsky called Putin a “coward thatโค attacks women and children,” whileโ European Councilโฃ President Antonio Costa urgedโข strengthening Ukraine’s defence and โฃincreasing sanctions โon Russia.
French Presidentโ Emmanuel Macron pledgedโ to do “everything possible to โฃensure fair โฃand durable peace,”โข and British Prime Minister โKeir Starmer condemned the attacks as โevidenceโฃ Putin believes heโฃ can act “with impunity.”
