Early Saturday morning, a 26-year-old woman was found shot โto death โคin the 1700-block of North โคKimball Avenue in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, โnear Logan Square, around 2:45 โขa.m. Police responding to a call found the woman โฃunresponsive with a gunshotโ wound to the head. Sheโฃ was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital and pronouncedโ dead. No arrests โhave been made, and Area Five detectives are investigating.
Later Saturday, aโค 17-year-old boy was โfatally shot in the Morgan Park neighborhood. The shooting occurred in the 11300-block of South carpenter Streetโค around 7:15 p.m. The victim, identified by the Cook county Medical Examiner’s Office as Ian williams, was standing on the sidewalkโ when someone in โฃa blue sedan fired shots, striking him in the chest. Heโ was transported to Christ Hospital inโ critical condition and pronounced dead. The driver โof the sedan fled northbound on Carpenter โฃStreet. One person is in custody, and Area Two detectives areโ investigating.
