Massachusetts to See Labor Day Protests โFocused on Worker Rights, Opposition to Trump Administration
WORCESTER, MA – September 1, 2025 – Labor Day in Massachusetts will be โmarked by a series of protests across the state, including onโฃ Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard, organized by labor and community groups focused on advocating โคfor workers’ rights and โopposing policies associated with the Trump administration. This year marks Worcester‘s first-ever Labor Day โparade, intended to “honor the victories of the past”โ according to organizers.Organized power In Numbers โExecutive Director Neidi Dominguez stated,”In this moment โคthe only way forward is toโ choose workers over billionaires every day.” dominguez highlighted the significance of the coordinated effort, noting it’s the first time in a long time labor and community groups are uniting for mass protests on Laborโค Day.
Protests are โplanned for Sandwich (2 p.m. at โSandwich Town Offices, 100 Route โค6A), Eastham (10 a.m. at the Salt Pond Visitor Center, 50 Nauset Road), and Tisbury on Martha’s Vineyard (11 a.m. at โค5 Corners, 1 Lagoon Pond Road). A Worcester “overpass standout” is scheduled for 43 Belmont St.
Organizers are also focused on long-term โคactivist training, anticipating continued protests throughout the remainder of Trump’s โterm and โbeyond. Activist โBhatti explained, “We certainly know that we are in a period of history in which it’s going to take a lot of mass protests all across the countryโฃ to be able to really really โฃturn back the tide of authoritarianism.”
Pringle emphasized the need forโ organized action, stating, “Organized people will always โขwin over organized money but we โฃhave to organize, we have โฃto be intentional and we have to โคunderstand ourโค power.”
