Marc-Andre ter Stegen has been between the posts of FC Barcelona since 2014, and nothing should change about that.
As reported by “Marca”, talks about a contract extension have been started. Although the DFB goalkeeper still has a valid working paper until 2025, the Blaugrana are aiming for the 31-year-old to end his career at the Camp Nou.
According to the report, ter Stegen should sign for three more years – i.e. until 2028 – when the Mönchengladbach native would be 36 years old. “Marca” assumes an agreement, the talks would be harmonious and Ter Stegen is happy in Barcelona.
With 255 appearances, the German is currently fourth in the ranking of Barca goalies with the most games in La Liga, behind leader Victor Valdes by 132 games. Ter Stegen would easily surpass this mark if he remains injury-free and actually plays for Barca for five more years.
