written by Priya Shah – Business Editor

Jakarta - Telkom, a‌ shareholder in GOTO, stated it currently has no⁢ specific direction regarding teh ⁤potential merger between GOTO and Grab, following recent discussion sparked by Danantara Investment Management Agency’s response. The statement comes as market speculation intensifies around a ⁤possible consolidation of the two Southeast⁤ Asian tech giants.

Telkom’s Director of Strategic Business Development Portfolio,Seno Soemadji,revealed the company’s position during an Executive Media ‍Briefing at the Telkom⁤ Landmark Tower ‌Building in Jakarta on Monday,December 1,2025. He appeared alongside Telkom’s ⁣director of Finance‌ and Risk Management,Arthur Angelo‍ Syailendra. The potential merger raises questions about Telkom’s stake in GOTO and whether the⁤ company will divest it’s shares.

“Regarding GOTO and Grab, frankly, this⁣ is still in the early stages. We still don’t have specific directions,” Seno said. While acknowledging the promising market potential ⁢of a combined ⁣GOTO and ‌Grab, Seno‌ cautioned that it was premature for⁤ Telkom to comment further. “I⁣ think there ‌is potential that we can get from various kinds of collaborations that ⁤can be carried out. There is synergy ‌that we can create ⁢from there,” he added.

The discussion follows comments from Rosan perkasa Roeslani Perkasa, CEO of Danantara Investment Management Agency, who indicated Danantara is awaiting official ⁣developments and remains open ‌to participating in the‌ merger process, should GOTO and Grab invite their involvement. “We ⁣leave it to the process, Grab⁤ and GOTO are running. They told ⁢us that Danantara is also open to participating,” Rosan⁢ stated after the Bank Indonesia Annual ⁢Meeting on November 28.

Title: Danantara Negotiates Lotte Shares in Indonesian Petrochemical Project

by Priya Shah – Business Editor November 27, 2025
written by Priya Shah – Business Editor

Jakarta – Danantara Investment Management Agency is in negotiations ⁣with South Korean ⁢conglomerate Lotte Chemical to acquire up to 30% ownership in a petrochemical project located in ⁢Cilegon, Banten province, Indonesia.‍ The potential deal, valued at a significant sum,‌ comes as Lotte has already invested US$4⁢ billion (approximately Rp. 66.63 trillion at an exchange rate of Rp. 16,659/US$) in Indonesia.

The prospective share acquisition is currently being⁣ refined, with Danantara ⁤considering a 25-30% stake, slightly lower‍ than an initially discussed 35%,‍ according to Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani. “We’re still negotiating between 25-30%. We’re calculating, we’re negotiating now,” Roeslani stated when approached at the Presidential ‌Palace Complex in Central ‍Jakarta on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

This potential investment signifies growing collaboration between Indonesia ‍and South Korea in the petrochemical sector, a ⁤key industry for Indonesia’s economic diversification and⁤ downstream manufacturing goals. the Cilegon project is expected to bolster Indonesia’s domestic petrochemical production capacity and‌ reduce‍ reliance on imports.

Before finalizing any agreement, Danantara‍ is conducting thorough due ‌diligence to ⁤assess the financial viability of the ⁢share⁢ purchase. “This ⁢is of great value, of course we still need to ⁣carry out due diligence first,” Roeslani explained.

The offer for the ⁣shares was initially presented to Roeslani⁢ on the sidelines of the 2025⁣ APEC⁤ Summit in Gyeongju, South Korea,⁤ at the end of October, in the Agenas Room of the Land Select ⁢Hotel. Lotte officials are scheduled to visit Indonesia this November⁣ to continue discussions.

NASA Shares First Images of Interstellar Comet 3I/ATLAS Captured From Mars

PASADENA, CA ‌- November 24, 2025 – NASA has released a series of unprecedented images of the interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS, captured by spacecraft currently orbiting and exploring Mars. The images, taken by the Mars reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO), MAVEN, and Perseverance rover, offer⁣ scientists a rare possibility to study an object originating outside our solar system.

3I/ATLAS, discovered in⁣ 2023, is only ‌the third confirmed‌ interstellar object detected passing through our solar ‌system. Its close approach to Mars in⁢ late ‌September and early October⁢ 2025 allowed for detailed observations unavailable from‍ Earth-based telescopes.

The HiRISE camera on MRO captured images showing the comet and its surrounding gas envelope, estimated to be approximately 1500 kilometers in diameter, formed by gas released as the comet nears the Sun. Scientists hope further analysis‍ of these images will help determine the size of the comet’s nucleus – its icy, dusty core – and⁢ the composition of ‌its ⁤particles.

“Observations of interstellar objects are still rare enough that we learn something new every time,” said shane Byrne, hirise principal investigator at the⁤ University of Arizona.”We are lucky 3I/ATLAS passes ‌Mars this close.”

MRO’s project ‌scientist, Leslie Tamppari of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, added, “One of MRO’s biggest contributions to NASA’s work on Mars is observing surface phenomena that only HiRISE can see.this is one of the opportunities where we can also study ⁤passing space objects.”

Simultaneously occurring, MAVEN’s Imaging Ultraviolet Spectrograph (IUVS) observed 3I/ATLAS for ten days (September 27 to October 7)‍ across various wavelengths. the resulting images depict the comet ⁢as a ‌bright, pixelated dot, exhibiting⁤ white at its center, blue ‌at the‍ edges, and dark purple in the outer coma. IUVS data also provides the most detailed information yet⁣ on the comet’s chemical⁣ composition, including an upper limit on the⁣ hydrogen to ⁣deuterium ratio,⁢ offering clues ⁢to its origin.

perseverance rover, operating within Jezero Crater, also successfully captured images of 3I/ATLAS on October 4 using its Mastcam-Z camera, ⁢requiring a long exposure time due to the object’s‌ faintness.

Currently, 3I/ATLAS is exhibiting new⁣ behavior, including increased brightness, new⁤ ultraviolet and X-ray activity, and more vibrant colors as it emerges from behind the Sun.

The comet will reach its closest point to Earth on December 19, 2025, at a distance of almost twice ⁢the earth-Sun distance (2 AU), posing no threat to⁢ our planet.

BUMN Sickness: Danantara’s Reasons & Streamlining Plan

by Priya Shah – Business Editor November 14, 2025
written by Priya Shah – Business Editor

Danantara‍ Points to Lack ⁤of Focus, Diversification as Root of BUMN underperformance

Jakarta, indonesia ⁢- Danantara ‍Asset Management‌ (DAM) has identified a lack of strategic focus and excessive diversification as key factors hindering the performance of Indonesian State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), according to recent statements. The company plans a⁤ sweeping portfolio streamlining effort aimed at refocusing BUMN on core, profitable businesses.

Speaking ‌recently, Febriany, a representative of Danantara,‌ stated, “There are so many children, all kinds of diversification here and there.” ⁣This observation underscores ⁤the‌ company’s assessment that BUMN have spread themselves too thin,‌ diluting resources and hindering profitability.

To address this,DAM will lead a portfolio streamlining‌ initiative,prioritizing core⁣ businesses and ‌evaluating the viability of others.⁢ “Later, there will also ⁤be a special team at DAM that will streamline it so that it focuses on what needs to be focused on,” febriany explained. “For those⁤ who are not part of the‌ ecosystem that is needed, maybe⁢ we ⁢should ask, is there a loss if they lose, they don’t need⁤ to be there, rather than being a burden.‍ But if they make a profit, share it like ⁤that.”

This ⁣strategy aligns with priorities outlined in a recent working meeting with Commission VI DPR RI on July 23rd. Danantara Chief⁢ Operating Officer (COO) Dony Oskaria detailed a thorough list of consolidation and streamlining programs for 2024, including:

* Consolidation of‍ the construction sector
* ⁣Consolidation and streamlining ⁤of the fertilizer business
* ‍ ⁢Consolidation ‍of the hospital business
*‌ consolidation of the hotel business
* Consolidation of ‌the‍ sugar business
* Consolidation‍ and downstreaming of the oil business
* Consolidation of⁤ the insurance‌ business
* ⁤ Asset management ‌business consolidation
* Industrial area business consolidation

Beyond consolidation, DAM is⁣ also pursuing business progress in several key ‌sectors, including cooperatives,‍ food, the battery industry, cement, ⁢sharia banking, telecommunications, and shipbuilding, with a goal of completion within the next five months.

To support these initiatives, Danantara is finalizing‍ internal governance and policies related to capital, finance, risk management, law, and human resources.⁢ “To support these 21 programs, we ⁢will also complete ⁣the‌ business support governance in the Danantara Asset Management organization through the human capital procedure policy… Then ‍we will‍ also complete procedures in the financial sector, in the ⁤field ⁣of risk ⁢management and legal to support ‌Danantara asset⁤ management operations,” Oskaria stated.

The move signals a critically⁣ important shift in strategy for Indonesian BUMN, aiming to improve efficiency and profitability by concentrating⁢ on core competencies⁢ and shedding underperforming or non-strategic assets.

Osteoarthritis, arthritis, fibromyalgia, osteoporosis and the other 150 rheumatological diseases: prevention, symptoms, treatments

by Dr. Michael Lee – Health Editor October 11, 2025
written by Dr. Michael Lee – Health Editor

New Research Highlights Proactive Strategies‍ in Combating the Rising Tide of Rheumatic Diseases

October 11, 2025 – A growing body of ⁣research underscores the critical importance of early intervention and preventative measures in managing the spectrum of rheumatic diseases, impacting millions globally. From osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis‍ to fibromyalgia and osteoporosis, and encompassing ⁣over 150 distinct conditions, these illnesses pose a significant⁣ and increasing burden on healthcare ⁣systems and individual quality⁢ of life. New‍ data ‍presented this week at the European League Against‌ Rheumatism (EULAR) 2025 conference emphasizes that⁢ lifestyle modifications, coupled with advancements in diagnostic‌ tools and targeted therapies, offer a ‍powerful approach to mitigating disease progression⁢ and improving patient outcomes.

Rheumatic diseases, characterized by pain, inflammation, and often debilitating joint ‌damage, affect individuals ‌of all ages and backgrounds. While‌ genetic predisposition plays a role, environmental factors and⁣ lifestyle choices are⁤ increasingly recognized as key contributors.⁤ Currently, an⁣ estimated 1 in 4 adults experiences ⁣some form of arthritis, with projections indicating a ample rise in prevalence due to aging populations and increasing rates ‌of obesity. The⁤ economic impact is also substantial, with⁣ direct‍ and indirect costs associated with ⁢rheumatic diseases exceeding $190.2 ⁢billion annually in the United States alone, according to a⁣ 2023 report by the ⁢Arthritis Foundation.⁢ This renewed focus on prevention ⁢and ‍early diagnosis aims to reduce both ⁤individual suffering and the escalating⁤ financial ⁤strain on healthcare resources.

Understanding the Spectrum of Rheumatic Diseases

The term⁣ “rheumatic diseases” ‍encompasses a diverse range of‌ conditions affecting the ⁣musculoskeletal system, including‍ joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and bones.

* ‍ Osteoarthritis⁤ (OA): The most common form of ‌arthritis,OA ‌results from the⁣ breakdown of⁤ cartilage,leading to pain,stiffness,and reduced ⁤range‍ of motion. Prevention⁢ strategies include maintaining ‌a healthy weight, ⁤regular exercise, ‌and avoiding repetitive joint stress.
* ‌ Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA): An autoimmune disease causing chronic inflammation of the‌ joints, RA can lead to⁢ joint damage and disability. Early diagnosis and aggressive treatment with disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) are crucial.
* ⁣ fibromyalgia: Characterized by widespread‌ musculoskeletal ⁤pain accompanied ⁣by fatigue,sleep disturbances,and cognitive⁣ difficulties,fibromyalgiaS cause remains unclear,but management focuses on pain relief,stress reduction,and⁢ improved sleep hygiene.
* ‌ Osteoporosis: A condition characterized by decreased bone density, increasing the risk of fractures. Prevention ⁢involves adequate ⁣calcium and ⁢vitamin D intake,‍ weight-bearing exercise, and ‌bone⁤ density screenings.
* ‌ Other Rheumatic⁤ Diseases: This broad category includes‌ conditions like lupus, psoriatic arthritis, gout, ankylosing spondylitis,‍ and vasculitis, each with unique symptoms and treatment approaches.

Prevention and⁤ Early Detection: A‌ Proactive Approach

Experts emphasize‌ that many rheumatic diseases are not unavoidable. Lifestyle modifications can significantly reduce‌ risk and delay onset. These include:

* Maintaining a healthy Weight: ⁢ Excess weight puts increased stress⁣ on weight-bearing joints, accelerating cartilage breakdown in OA and exacerbating⁢ symptoms in‍ other conditions.
* ‍ Regular Exercise: Strengthening muscles around ⁤joints provides ‍support and⁣ stability, while low-impact exercises like swimming and cycling improve joint health.
* Balanced Diet: A diet rich in fruits,vegetables,and omega-3 fatty acids can help reduce inflammation.
* ‌ ⁣ Avoiding Smoking: Smoking is linked to increased risk of RA ⁢and other autoimmune diseases.
* ‌ Early Screening: Individuals with a family history of rheumatic diseases or experiencing persistent ⁣joint pain should consult a healthcare professional for evaluation. advances ‍in imaging techniques and biomarker analysis are enabling earlier and more accurate diagnoses.

Treatment⁣ Advances and future Directions

Treatment⁢ options for rheumatic diseases have ‍expanded significantly ‍in recent years. Beyond customary medications like NSAIDs ‌and corticosteroids, biologic therapies and targeted synthetic DMARDs offer more ⁤precise and effective control of inflammation. Research is also focused on developing regenerative medicine ⁤approaches to repair damaged cartilage and restore joint function. Moreover,
