Aki Shimizu, the artist behind the Suikoden III: The Successor of Fate manga adaptation, will return to the Suikoden universe to create a manga based on the newly announced mobile and PC game, Suikoden Star Leap. the adaptation will debut in the december 2025 issue of Monthly comic Flapper, which releases on November 5, 2025, in Japan.
This marks the fourth Suikoden property to receive a manga adaptation, and continues a long-standing relationship between the franchise and Monthly Comic Flapper.Previous adaptations include manga versions of the original Suikoden and Suikoden II by Yu hijikata, and Shimizu’s acclaimed eleven-volume adaptation of Suikoden III,originally published in English by Tokyopop and now out of print. the news arrives following a subtle hint from Konami, which included a message from Shimizu on the Star Leap website stating, “A new addition to the Suikoden series, after a long silence! Shimizu’s involvement is significant for fans of both the Suikoden series and her work, as suikoden III is widely considered a high point in the franchise.
