Malang, East java -‍ Brawijaya University (UB) Rector ‍Prof. Widodo is responding to calls from former UIN⁢ Malang lecturer Imam Muslimin to expel doctoral student Nurul Sahara, also⁢ known as Sahara_vibessss on tiktok.Muslimin⁤ alleges‍ Sahara’s online activity led to⁤ his dismissal from‍ UIN Malang and is demanding UB take ⁣disciplinary ‌action.

Muslimin ‌publicly appealed to Prof. Widodo via⁤ Instagram, stating Sahara’s TikTok account contributed to his‍ termination and subsequent investigation by ‍the Ministry of ⁣Religion’s Inspector ⁣General. Singer’s Gambling Addiction Shatters Life, Sparks Redemption

Early Struggles

In early 2021, singer Alvin Jo managed to break free from the grip of a gambling addiction that had plagued him. He shared the details of his struggle, which began during his junior high school years.

Alvin Jo recounted that his addiction became so intense that it seeped into his financial well-being. He said that the habit was addressed during the “Tobat” (2018) lecture but didn’t fully stop until the start of 2021. It was then he knew something was amiss.

The Turning Point

The Malang-born artist, on September 20, 1997, admitted he reached a point of detachment regarding financial losses from gambling. It got to the point where he no longer felt any negativity in these instances, choosing instead to prioritize gambling over basic necessities. His living expenses began taking a backseat to the costs of his gambling habits.

“There is something wrong in me because of the time of losing (gambling) I don’t feel anything. I always leave my money for living expenses with gambling. Initially if you lose stress, this is not. Already enjoy me (lost),”

According to the National Council on Problem Gambling, an estimated 2-3 million U.S. adults meet the criteria for a gambling disorder (National Council on Problem Gambling).

Consequences

The 2022 X Factor Indonesia champion faced familial anger over his gambling. Alvin Jo mentioned he had to seek help, even admitting to needing funds to pay his debts. He was compelled to leave home and reside with his aunt, where he was in a constant state of stress.

His life crumbled. Alvin Jo felt he had no future. He failed to complete his studies and experienced relationship issues. He realized that his choices, including gambling, were wrong.

Finding a Path Forward

Eventually, by accepting the hard truths of his situation, he started to forgive various aspects of his life. He recognized the pain he had gone through without realizing it.

“The trick (can forgive) use the Lord Jesus. Given a new POV, I see my parents have more bitterness, so the same. The chance to live only once, they have bitterness, I have bitterness. It hurts me without me knowing it,”

Teenager Identified as Vandal Behind Firecracker Incident at Kayutangan Debt Heritage- Police Investigation Underway

Reported detikJatim, Friday (12/4/2024) police officers also came to the teenager’s house. Klojen Police Chief Commissioner Syabain said the perpetrator was a resident of Klojen District, Malang City with the initials K and was still a minor.

“Earlier, officers visited the house in question at around 12.00 WIB. And officers have also communicated with the parents because this child is still a minor,” he said, Thursday (11/4/2024).

The police are currently still investigating. So the police cannot provide further information.

“We are still investigating again accompanied by the family concerned (whether lighting firecrackers to damage the Kayutangan Heritage signage was intentional or not),” said Syabain.

Sayabain said that in solving this problem, it was done carefully. This is because the teenagers involved in this vandalism case are still minors.

“We are still investigating the process. Because of this we have to be extra careful because it is children. We will also coordinate with the relevant agencies,” he said.

“The possible solution is at least guidance from parents and we will monitor or periodically report the person concerned to the police station accompanied by their parents,” he continued.

Woman Arrested for Distributing Money to Support Presidential Candidate in Malang, East Java

A woman in the Regency Malang, East Java, with the initials P is suspected of committing money politics. He was caught distributing envelopes containing Rp. 50 thousand denominations, allegedly to support one of the candidate pairs.

Reported detikJatim, Monday (12/2/2024), the alleged money politics that occurred in Panjang Village, Gondanglegi, Malang is currently being investigated by Bawaslu, Malang Regency. The discovery of the distribution of money was then reported to the RT Head who then forwarded it to the village head until it ended up at the Bawaslu table.

“So basically there was an activity in question, giving money to one of the candidate pairs (Presidential Election). This finding was reported to the RT and village head,” said Malang Regency Bawaslu Head of Prevention, Community Participation and Public Relations, Muhamad Hazairin, to journalists in his office, Monday (12/2/2024).

The perpetrator was then arrested along with the evidence. However, from the results of the clarification, the perpetrator denied that the money was given to residents in connection with the winning of one of the candidate pairs.

Hazairin was reluctant to say what candidate pair number P conveyed to the residents when giving him the Rp. 50 thousand note. The perpetrator is known to have given envelopes to 5 residents. The total money P brought was IDR 1 million.

“One of the candidate pairs, in the presidential election. What is certain is that the money is used to elect presidential and vice presidential candidates in their community every Legi Friday,” he explained.

Simultaneous Polio Immunization in Karangnongko Village: Success and Community Collaboration

UIN MALANG Public Relations – Simultaneous polio immunization was carried out in Karangnongko Village for 5 days, 15-19 January 2024 with a total of 990 immunized participants. The targets of this activity are 5 PAUD and Kindergarten, 3 elementary schools, 2 MI and toddler posyandu in Nongkosewu, Karanganyar Lor, Paras, Baran and Tenggeran hamlets.

This immunization was assisted by KKN students majoring in health groups 80 & 81. They not only involved themselves because of their duties, but also with the spirit of community service together with midwives, nurses and village health cadres.

Polio immunization is not just a medical routine, but rather a simultaneous effort to prevent and break the chain of transmission of the polio virus which can cause paralysis in children. This mission is not only about providing vaccines, but also providing comprehensive protection and strengthening the immune system of vulnerable children aged 0 to 7 years.

Instructions from the government are the basis for implementing simultaneous polio immunization, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between related parties to achieve optimal immunization coverage.

The village midwife, Mrs. Tanti, expressed high appreciation for the contribution of KKN students. In his response, he stated, “KKN students were very helpful in implementing SUB PIN Polio round 1 so that the implementation ran well and smoothly.”

One of the KKN students, Bryka, majoring in medicine, also shared her impressions and messages. “I am very enthusiastic about taking part in PIN round 1. Here I learned a lot of new things. Thank you Mrs. Tanti and Mrs. April for their experience.” With a beaming face, Bryka emphasized that this experience not only filled her academic pages, but also built strong bonds between students and the village community.

With the success of this polio immunization party, Karangnongko Village not only became safer from the threat of disease, but also celebrated the spirit of mutual cooperation in maintaining the health of their children. This health party gives a deep impression that together, we can create a healthier and happier environment.
