Pac-12 women’s Gymnasticsโค bolsteredโค by Addition of Southern Utah
The Pac-12 Conference is solidifying it’sโ position as aโฃ national powerhouse in women’s gymnastics withโค the addition of Southern Utah Universityโค as an affiliate member, effective September 2025. Theโข move elevates the conference โto a projected Top 5 ranking nationally, building on a foundation ofโค consistent postseason success and high-level competition.
Southern Utah brings a proven track record of excellence, boasting โฃa five-year average ranking of 24.2 โฃvia Road to โNationals rankings and 13-straight NCAA โRegionalโค appearancesโค – the third-longest โactiveโฃ streak in โthe new Pac-12 behind Oregon โState (50-straight) and Boise Stateโ (17-straight). The “Flippin’ โฃBirds” have securedโ conference championships in three consecutive seasons, winning the 2024โฃ and 2025 MPSF Championshipsโ and the 2023โ Mountain โคRim Championship.
The program โhas consistently appeared in the Top 25โค nationally, including a No. 21 ranking in 2025, No. 22 in 2023 and 2020, โand No.23 in 2021. โIn 2025,โ Southern Utah โswept the MPSF โขawards, with Niya Randolph earning Gymnast of the Year honors for โtheโค second consecutive year, โฃalongside Freshmanโ of โคtheโ Year โคMia Hampton, Specialist of the Yearโฃ Ellie Cacciola, and coach of the โฃYear Scotty Bauman, with Assistant Coaches Jamieโ Wysong and โJeff Richards also recognized.
Collectively, the Pac-12’s four women’s gymnastics programs (Oregon State, Boise State, Utah State, andโ now Southern Utah) haveโข demonstrated significant strength โฃover the pastโฃ five seasons. Since theโ 2020-21 season, the conference โholds an average Road toโ Nationals ranking of 26.1 – fourth among all conferences, trailing onlyโ the SEC (10.2), Big โค12 (21.3), โand Big Ten (22.7). The Pac-12 is one of only three conferences to have over half of its teams reach the NCAAโ postseason in each of the last five years.
Over the past five โคseasons,โ Pac-12โค teams have achieved 14โค Top 25 finishes in the road to Nationals rankings, with oregon State recording โa Top 25 finish in each of the last 11 seasons. The conference also boasts an average โฃteam score of 196.114 – fifth nationally – and โคan average home meet attendance of 2,335,ranking fifth in the country and one of only five conferences averaging over 750 attendees per home meet.
