Taipei, Taiwan – Following South Korea’sโค recent designation of hundreds โof viruses as โfirst-class infectious diseases, Taiwan is adjusting its COVID-19 vaccination approach to focus on high-risk populations, officials announced today. the move aligns with internationalโค trends andโค aims to โคaddress โขlingeringโค vaccineโข hesitancy.Luo Yijun, a doctor from the Department of Disease Control and Management, stated that while โcombined influenza โขand COVID-19 vaccinations will continue this year, the COVID-19 program will now โฃtarget 10 specific high-risk groups, excluding young people.โข thisโค adjustment reflects a shift in strategy as theโค pandemic evolves. “if the epidemic changes, itโ is not ruled out to followโ up,” Luoโข added.
Currently, approximatelyโ 2 โmillion doses of publicly-funded COVID-19 โฃvaccineโ are availableโ through September 30th.
