Oktoberfest 2025: A Million Visitors Brave the โคHeat at Wiesn – โTradition and Modernity Converge
Munich’sโค Oktoberfest 2025 saw a million โฃvisitors descend upon theโฃ Theresienwiese during aโฃ notably warm weekend, witnessingโ a vibrant blend of โBavarian tradition and modern inclusivity. The โfestival grounds where alive with the usual spectacle of the customary rifle โฃparade, running concurrently with “Rosa Sonntag,” the annualโ gathering of the queer community at the Brรคurosl tent. This year highlighted not a separation, but a clear intersection between these worlds.
A striking example of this โconvergence was Christian IV, a Prince of โขMunich’s oldest carnival club, Narhalla. Demonstrating a commitment โคto inclusivity โฃbeyond โขhis princely duties, Christian is also aโ supporting member of the United Queens โof Munichโค association. He shares โคa connection with maikรถnigin Susi Sendling, a prominent Munichโ dragโ queen, and โthe two recently connected on the โfestival grounds.
Addingโค another layer to the diverse scene, Maikรถnigin susi was accompanied by Timmy, Andy, and Stefan – holding the titles of Mister Fetish NRW, Bavarian โคMister Fetish, โขand Mister Fetish Germany respectively. While not in traditional costume, the group embraced visibility โขthroughโ striking paint and โฃleather attire. Timmy emphasized the importance of being โseen, “everywhereโฃ and always,” and reportedโค overwhelmingly positive reception, with many festival-goers requesting photos.
Theโค spirit of unity extended to plans for โฃthe evening, with both โMaikรถnigin Susi and her companions, and Christian โคandโ his partner, intending to continue the festivityโ togetherโ at theโฃ Brรคurosl tent.โ This reflects the โwelcoming atmosphere โฃof “Rosa Sonntag.”
For โthose unable toโฃ attend the โคinitial celebration, โthe Brรคurosl tent introduced “Roslโข Monday” this year, starting at 3 p.m., offering โขan extended possibility for inclusivity and open celebration. This addition underscores Munich’s commitment to embracing diversity, particularly during the world-renowned Oktoberfest.
