Vitรณria Seeksโ Deal with Botafogo to Avoid Fine, Play Key โDefender Lucas Halter
Salvador, Brazil – Vitรณria is inโ negotiations with botafogo to pay a R$1 million fine in order to field captainโฃ and defenderโข Lucas Halter in this sunday’s match, according to journalist Venรช โฃCasagrande. The situation โstems from a contract clauseโข triggered by Halter’s performance, obligating Vitรณria to purchase him outright.
halter has already met theโข performance targets stipulated in hisโค loan agreement, forcing the club to exercise its option to buy himโ for US$1.3 million (approximately R$6.9โฃ million). Vitรณria โฃpresident Fabio Mota is attempting to offset the fine by structuring the payment within the four โinstallments already scheduled for the mandatory โคpurchase. The first of these payments is due in April 2026.
The โclub hopes to dilute theโ R$1 million fine across those existing payments.
Vitรณria will be without several โother players for Sunday’s game, including suspended โdefenders Camutanga โandโค Edu (due โto concussion protocol),as well as midfielders Baralhas and Dudu, who โare also serving suspensions.
