Tech Entrepreneur Offers $100K, Then $300K, for Husband Match
SAN FRANCISCO – A San Francisco-based tech entrepreneur is offering increasingly large sums of money to anyone who can successfully match her with a husband, sparking debate about modern relationships adn “romance capitalism.” Aella, who uses the online handle @aellaslife, initially offered $100,000 in a Substack newsletter post to anyone who could find her a suitable partner, later raising the reward to $300,000 – approximately Rp 5 billion.
Aella outlined a highly specific set of requirements for prospective husbands. She seeks a partner open to polyamory or other non-customary relationship structures, financially equivalent to herself, and interested in having children. “I am a very strange person. It is not difficult for me to find people to date, or the man who is willing to marry me, but a group of people who really want me to marry is very small,” she stated.
She further clarified her desired partner would be “fully committed to polymori (about 3 percent of the population), with a certain sexual tendency (about 10 percent of men), is at a level of wealth that is quite similar to me, want to have children, and fully accept himself.” Intelligence, political views, age, and BMI would be secondary considerations.
The offer escalated further with a proposal for a wealthy benefactor willing to contribute $10 million (Rp 164 billion) to impregnate her, with Aella retaining full custody as a single mother. “I am freezing dozens of egg cells to optimize descendants in the future. So this offer is not playing games,” she explained.
Aella describes her approach as “romance capitalism,” framing love as a market-driven endeavor.”People treat an arranged marriage as if it was something magical… It was beatiful, but unrealistic. In 2025,we could do something better than just happen to meet on the road,” she told Slate.
Aella claims to have already identified a potential partner through an online survey distributed to her followers, suggesting the viability of her method.however, her unconventional views on relationships have drawn significant controversy.
