LSU Baseball Team Earns High Marks: Eight Players Named to SEC Academic Honor Roll

BATON ROUGE, La. – fresh off their National Championship victory, the LSU baseball team continues to demonstrate excellence, this time in the classroom. Eight players have been named to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Academic Honor Roll for 2025, recognizing their dedication to both athletics and academics.

Academic Excellence on the Diamond

The honored student-athletes include pitcher Kade Anderson (Sport Administration),outfielder Jake Brown (Sport Administration),first baseman Jared Jones (Sport Administration),outfielder Ashton Larson (Interdisciplinary Studies),shortstop Steven Milam (Sport Administration),outfielder Mic Paul (International Trade & Finance),pitcher DJ Primeaux (construction Management),and pitcher Kade Woods (Sport Administration). Thes players represent a diverse range of academic pursuits while maintaining high standards on the baseball field.

Did You Know? LSU baseball players have received SEC Academic Honor Roll recognition 191 times as 2007, showcasing a long-standing tradition of academic success within the program.

Anderson, Brown, and Milam also earned spots on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team earlier this month. Anderson boasts a 3.57 GPA with a Sport Administration major and Business Administration minor, while Brown holds a 3.68 GPA in Sport Administration with a Business Administration minor. Milam maintains a 3.72 GPA as a Sport Administration major with a Business Administration minor.

A Program Built on Achievement

Academic achievement is a cornerstone of the LSU baseball program.Over the past 18 years, 127 student-athletes have earned their degrees, demonstrating the program’s commitment to developing well-rounded individuals. In 2025, Kade Woods and Dalton Beck have already earned their college degrees, with Josh Pearson expected to graduate this summer.

SEC Academic Honor Roll Criteria

To qualify for the SEC Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must meet specific criteria based on their GPA and academic progress. The 2025 selections were based on grades from the 2024 Summer, 2024 Fall, and 2025 Spring terms. the requirements include:

• Maintaining a GPA of 3.00 or above for the preceding academic year or a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above.
• Including summer school GPA in the calculation, if applicable.
• Being a scholarship recipient, athletics award winner, or a non-scholarship athlete on a varsity team for two seasons.
• Completing 24 semester or 36 quarter hours of non-remedial academic credit (undergraduate) or 18 semester or 27 quarter hours (graduate).
• Being a member of the varsity team for the sport’s entire NCAA Championship segment.
