Altadena, CA – A collaborative โeffortโ to support long-termโค recovery from the devastating Eaton Fire was launched Tuesdayโ with the formation of the Eaton Fire Collaborative โฃ- Long Term Recovery Group (EFC-LTRG). the group aims to coordinateโ resources and oversee rebuilding efforts for individuals and families โฃimpacted byโค the January โblaze.
The EFC-LTRG will serve โas a central hub, unitingโ nonprofits, community organizations, faith-based groups, businesses, and government partnersโ to ensure a survivor-centered and equitable recovery โprocess.Theโฃ institution’s efforts come after the โEaton โFire ignited on โขJan. 7 near Altadena Drive and Midwick Drive, burning roughlyโ 14,021 โขacres over 24 โdays during powerful Santa Ana winds. The fire resulted in the destruction of approximately โข9,414 structures andโค damage to another 1,074, with a confirmed death toll ofโ 19.
Led by Council chair Victoria Knapp, andโค with โportrayal from โthe Offices of Rep. Judyโ Chu,D-Pasadena,and Supervisor Kathrynโ Barger,the EFC-LTRG will focus on severalโ keyโ areas: coordinating recovery services,securingโ funding through grants and donations,overseeing โขrebuilding projects,delivering disaster case management,addressing unmet needs,andโค collaboratingโ with โขFEMA and other emergency management agencies.
The organization will operate out of theโฃ future Eaton โFire Collaboratory, a resource center located at 540 Woodbury โฃRoad in Altadena, and โwill host community meetings there. Moreโ data is available โขat EatonFireCollaborative.org.
