Summerlin South Littleโ League Champions โto Ignite Raiders Game with Al Davis Memorial Torch
Las Vegas, NV – โTeh โU.S. Little league Baseball World Series champion Summerlin South team will have the honor of lighting the al Davis Memorial Torch before Monday’s Raiders versus Chargers game.
Theโข team earned the prestigious opportunity following a remarkable season that began in May. Summerlin South dominated competition โคthroughout the District and State Tournaments, and then the โMountain Region, securing their place at the Little Leagueโ World Series in Southโค Williamsport, pennsylvania. โFacing elimination,โ the team rallied to defeat Connecticut 8-2, claiming the U.S. Little League World series title.
Summerlin South joins a distinguished group of individuals who have litโข the torch sence the tradition began on October 18, 2011, with the late John Madden โขas its inaugural torchbearer.Mrs.โฃ Carol Davis, the First Lady ofโ Raiderโ nation, was the first to light the torch in Las Vegas, honoringโ her late husband prior to the Raiders’ โfirst game at Allegiant Stadiumโ on September 21, 2020.
