Buenos Aires – Argentine actress and singer Lorena Paola, a beloved figure in Argentine television since the 1980s, is experiencing a career resurgence marked by stage work, entrepreneurial ventures, and a foray into digital content creation. The 52-year-old performer, known for her roles in programs like Festilindo, has been actively engaged in theater and other projects, defying the narrative of a “comeback” she herself rejects.
“Sometimes I’d read ‘Lorena Paola is returning’ and consider, ‘Returning from where? Where did I go?’” Paola remarked in a recent interview with TN Show. She explained that while her public profile may have fluctuated, she has consistently worked in the entertainment industry. From 2005 to 2015, she toured Argentina with children’s musicals, performing in cities across the country. “I love to travel, I love the stage. And the people in the interior are wonderful. They always welcomed us with so much love,” she said.
Paola’s early career began at the age of six with appearances on musical programs for children, Cantaniño and Festilindo. She won first place at the Second Inter-American Song Festival, competing against a Puerto Rican child, and subsequently recorded her first LP, Crecer con papá, in 1982 for RCA Victor. Her song, “El sustantivo,” gained international recognition. She later released a second album, De aquí en más, in 1991.
Currently, Paola is performing in Los sospechosos del piso 10, a suspenseful comedy at the Teatro Multiescena. The play, which premiered in May 2025, has gained popularity through word-of-mouth, according to Paola. The cast also includes Adriana Brodsky, Alexis Quiroga, Alejandro Cupito, Florencia Elizabeth, and Maxi Frutos. “The comedy remains intact, it works perfectly, it’s like a clock,” she stated, indicating that recent cast changes have not affected the production’s quality. The play centers on a couple who find themselves embroiled in a supposed murder mystery, with the audience participating as witnesses to the investigation.
Paola also appears in Al Caribe sin mí, a microtheater production directed by Carolina Papaleo. These productions are performed in small venues for approximately 20 people, offering a unique and intimate theatrical experience.
Beyond her stage work, Paola has diversified her career. She has been a panelist on the television program Run Run del espectáculo on Crónica TV for seven years. She also launched Alma Brava, a clothing showroom in Pilar, after a previous attempt at a brick-and-mortar store proved unsuccessful. “You have to attempt, you can’t just sit around with your arms crossed. If I build a mistake, I start over. I’m not afraid of that,” she said.
Paola joined Divas Play and OnlyFans approximately a year and a half ago, creating content for the platforms. She clarified that her profile features “subtle and sexy” content, but is not pornographic.
Reflecting on her career, Paola expressed regret over opportunities she declined, including a television program in Spain when she was 17 or 18. “They were looking for secretaries who could dance and sing. I was chosen, but I would have had to leave the country for five years and I didn’t dare,” she admitted. “Today I wonder what would have happened if I had gone.”
